Election 2015 - Which party offers most to new families?

Election time approaching and I was wondering if people had any views on which party offers the most to those thinking of starting a family. It might be a somewhat selfish approach to politics... but since I am disillusioned with all the main parties, it seems sensible to narrow things down and vote based on what will make life easier for my girlfriend and I when we start a family in the near future.

Many thanks..

That seems an odd approach. Surely you have views about the economy and defence etc. not just immediate things.

What are your thoughts on the NHS, education, employee rights, minimum wage, our role in Europe......?

I agree that sometimes it does boil down to small personal things.
This may help??
Lib dems are extending 15 free childcare hours for 2yr9month old to when they turn 2years.
I think labour are making it more hours for 2yr 9 months. Think 20? Could be wrong.
I think tory aren't changing the free childcare hours at all

Well, AFAIAA, none of the parties have published their manifestos yet, so how on earth would we know?

But probably not UKIP, as they are quite keen on getting rid of maternity leave.

I saw this info on a daytime program where a mum was looking into going back to work

Anyone but the Tory's Wink

would i want to generate lots more national debt for my kids to inherit - over and above what labour have currently left us with? No, I wouldn't. this is one fo the many reasons i will vote tory

JackSkellington · 07/02/2015 13:50

The worst choice would undoubtedly be the Tories, as they are already starting to make life difficult for single parents and with their general attitude, I see hardly any evidence that they care for the general public at all.
At the moment it feels like we're choosing the best of a bad bunch.

dreamingofsun · 07/02/2015 14:27

jack - how are they making life hard for single parents? By making them go to work like the rest of us?

Benefit changes: David Cameron is no longer on the side of single parents

I'm going to be voteing for my young children's future, I'm going to vote green, voteing for a sustainable and fairer society, and a less pressurised education system that values learning and childhood.
