If you voted No in the Scottish Referendum, do you regret it?

I listened to a phone in this morning on Radio Scotland. The debate hasn't moved on much for many of those particular callers but there was a lot of "everyone I know that voted No is sorry" "I voted No and I don't regret it" kind of stuff.

From my pov I was always a No, for many reasons none of which involved a vow. Recent events surrounding the oil price plummeting (the surplus profit was going to pay for the milk and honey iirc) and even the undoubtably embarrassing U turn on stamp duty have reinforced that I made the correct decision.

Voted no although I had my doubts whether it was the right decision at the time.

Fast forward to today and absolutely sure that a no vote was the right decision.

I actually can't believe that the EU result is being used as a possible reason for a second independence referendum. The EU vote was a UK wide democratic vote, and given the majority of Scots voted to remain part of the UK we all have to accept the result whether we agree with it or not! It's democracy. End of! It's how civilised society works FGS!!!

We'll just keep asking until you give the right answer / fingers in ears response from the SNP is staggering.

Would vote no again in a heartbeat and am so disappointed in the SNP and their controlling ways. Their obsession with independence above all else and the belief that we as a nation don't know what is good for us Hmm has led to a decline in education, NHS, public services and they should be utterly ashamed.

The idea that no voters were somehow scared, coerced or just downright ignorant continues to be massively offensive. They lost, they should move on and govern for the good of all the people of Scotland.

And breathe!!!!

Just realised this is a resurrected zombie thread! Confused

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/02/2017 12:06

OMG is there a particular reason you are going around bumping old threads about SNP/IndyRef etc?

OMGyoumustbekidding · 17/02/2017 13:28

www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/settler-watch-extremist-links-tartan-9834853 this is one of the reasons I vote no and will always vote no: The anti englishness of the snp is putrid and venomous. I am a Scot with an english accent and am so upset that I want to go back to england even though none of my family live there any more. Sad

OMGyoumustbekidding · 17/02/2017 13:48

Yes my bumping of the post is absolutely deliberate, because it appears to be an ongoing issue for the SNP and the country.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/02/2017 13:53

Why don't you start your own new thread, rather than spamming across several old threads?

OMGyoumustbekidding · 17/02/2017 14:22

I don't really understand why my opinion is considered "spamming" it'sallgoingtobefine and yours is not.
I haven't started a new thread because I was answering a question raised by the OP on a subject that is still relevant.
Why do you feel the need to silence my opinion?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/02/2017 14:49

I don't really understand why my opinion is considered "spamming" it'sallgoingtobefine and yours is not.

Because writing "bump", on multiple threads is not expressing your opinion - it is spamming.

OMGyoumustbekidding · 17/02/2017 16:44

Fair enough, however if you read on I have expressed my opinion on the thread. Sometimes when I find an older thread I am interested in and it is still relevant I like to see some more current opinions as people add them. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
I can see as a yes supporter you might find it annoying that I have expressed my opinion or opened up a thread where some people have criticised the snp, but there really is no need to get touchy about it. I was only expressing an opinion. We all have them I'm afraid. Grin

No, I don't regret it. Quite apart from the fact that I actually like being British and Scottish, all of the practical reasons for voting 'No' are even more clear cut now. The economy has declined further and we're in an even weaker position to be independent than we were two years ago, and the SNP continue to demonstrate that they couldn't run a bath let alone an independent country.
