Well, to give credit where it's due - he's not lying about it, is he? In fact, I rather suspect he's proud of it ... And at least we know where we stand.

The NHS is being dismantled, and it's going exactly according to plan for the Tories. Until one of them gets ill.

Frothy to be fair it's both sides. Remember Labour started this most directly by letting Branson & others in to provide GP services? I would prefer a proper whole NHS and recognise both sides have the knives out because demographics make the figures just to large to sell to any taxpayer.

Demographics. How is it that the population has increased so exponentially without a corresponding increase in the amount of taxes paid into the exchequer that can be allocated to the NHS? What on earth is the govt doing with our taxes? Why isn't it using them to look after our health and education?

The point to Frothy was that voting Tory or Labour the die was already cast and voting Labour in future isn't going to turn any clocks back.

The demographics are not so much population increase/tax pot but population increase in age 65+ which is draining funds faster than ever. Most of us are living many years longer but with a mix of chronic illness. Also all the lovely new hi-tec operations / drugs that give us those extra years are complex and expensive....and we'd like them in nice facilities with plenty of qualified staff.

You're right of course. But it's the elderly who will suffer most under the reorganisation, as I can't see the private companies queuing up to fund the expensive long-term care that people will chronic conditions suffer from.

Well, I always predicted they would start allowing more euthanasia, dismantle the NHS and then start offering free end-of-life pills to the over 75s, so that they can go when they "choose," cheaply... it's just so much kinder... particularly when there's no longer an NHS or state pension...

Lord Falconer (Blair's BF) is the one who has just lead a commission made up of 'suitably minded friends' (his own view previously recorded), sponsored by Terry Pratchett, lacking in representation from all the major disability charities, that found ooh yes euthanasia is a good thing.

People need to look beyond party lines and see the agenda of individuals to get an informed picture.
