Red Ed says exactly the same sentence, in exactly the same words, in exactly the same manner, about 5 or 6 times.

It is downright creepy.

longfingernails didn't see your earlier post. What makes you say that he is in thrall to the unions? I haven't ever heard any pro union statement out of his mouth ever...

I'm very pleased that Ed is leader of the Labour Party, as he is a right liability and weird to boot. With him as leader, the party will not see power for sometime to come. If I voted Labour or were a party member, which I'm not, I would be most upset to see this oddball as leader! Grin

complimentary The best part is, as we saw with Gordon Brown, that Labour finds it impossible to get rid of their duds.

The Tories decapitated IDS in pretty short order when it became obvious he was out of his depth. The Lib Dems cheerily stuck the knife into Charles Kennedy and Ming Campbell. But Labour? No, they just can't do it.

They are stuck with this weirdo.

Tory politicians made it quite clear they wanted IDS in the coalition cabinet - he's old school right-wing Tory and DC agreed - I admire the Tories, they have the Ken Clarkes who'll say it's ok to stab a burglar - and of course IDS.
Labour haven't got a single politician with balls.

longfingernails · 02/07/2011 22:09

Oh - I adore IDS. He is principled, he is very right-wing, and he has shown more imagination on welfare - putting compassionate Conservatism into action - than legions of previous Work and Pensions Secretaries.

But he was totally unsuited to be leader. The same way, I adore what George Osborne is doing with the economy, but he would be a disaster as PM.

Red Ed was elected on the union vote, in spite of the MPs and party members rightly rejecting him - and this interview shows quite clearly that the MPs judgment was entirely right. I feel a bit sorry for the Labour MPs, who wanted someone else, and are now stuck with a loser.

Agree he wasn't leader material - neither was William Hague. But look at them now.
They're both brilliant politicians and DC knows it. You're only as good as the people around you & he'll happily play bland leader whilst they get the job done.

LFN. Why have Ed Miliband as leader if most voters look at him and think "no thanks". It beggars belief that they would want to keep a liability. He although is a treasure/prize for Cameron. When Cameron observes Ed's articulation, his bulging eyes, his wooden manner, he must think, "lovely no competition here!". Red Ed... what a godsend!Grin

The interviewer speaks - he was clearly freaked out by Ed & minders.

There are people I have known for years who use the same phrases time and time again. They have a very limited stock of metaphors and terms, and have such limited abilities and experience that if they talk for any length of time end up repeating themselves. Some have very limited intellect disgused by good education. Others are able to grow out of it if they gain experience.

Another wierd one was a few sundays ago Andrew (impartial)Marr asking Desperate Ed why he went to the Murdoch party three weeks previously. Desperate Ed replied he wished he hadnt. Andrew (impartial)Marr implied that Ed had had no choice because he was bullied into it. Confused. Desperate Ed didnt want to go, he has integrity but the nasty old Tories well they wanted to be there. Andrew Marr is quite outrageous, and yet we have to keep looking at sky news to see how impartial they are being.
