Great news if your a Tory

We now have the highest unemployment (2.53 million) since 1993 when hmmm now who was it, ah yes, the Tories were last in power.

Dont rest on your laurels Dave you have Thatchers record of 4 million in site, go for it.

Still you can claim one top prize, the highest youth unemployment ever, you and Gideon must be very very proud.

Unemployment as social control, what next homelessness, child poverty.

As for those of you who voted for this filth I hope to God it is you or your children who end up on the scrapheap that would be poetic justice.

Don't read the daily fail...

Interesting....you ask me not to forget how much time and money its taken to "repair the damage" of 18 years of Thatcher/Major rule yet start a thread berating the Tories who have been in power for less than a year who are trying to "repair the damage" done by thirteen years of Labour rule.

Of course you won't see the irony of your post. After all, Labour should be given as much time they want but the Tories should wave their magic wand eh?

newwave - what do you do for a living?

newwave · 21/03/2011 23:40

major,

I work in a sales and design environment in building management systems which means I meet clients in both the private and public sector mostly at middle management and engineering levels to discuss their needs. A lot of new build sites as well.

NG2, no irony at all as IMHO I dont see the direction of the Tories as the corect direction and their actions will make the problem worse for those at in need.

Except as per the other link. In fact Labour's course had they have won would have been virtually the same. Only around a £2 billion difference.

So whilst you are entitled to your opinion as to whether or not the direction is correct. In actual fact, all parties are constrained by economic reality and would have had to make savage cuts. Luckily your imagination is not party to the same reality so you are free to imagine what you like!

Its astonishing to me how people can decide that an 'illiterate' immigrant who can't speak English also can't read or write in their own language, or has no qualifications and no work experience without ever speaking to one.

There are many poles, portuguese, indian, pakistani, Thai, Chinese people in my town who are very highly qualified, strong and determined business people, qualified and experienced tradesmen as well as students more qualified than the grunting english scum that hate them without any thought or understanding. Within a few months of being here many are learning English enough to get by when the English versions abroad are still shouting 'WHERE. IS. THE . BEACH? to the spaniards in the town they have moved to.

A local farm who was staffed by Polish workers supposedly doing work that unemployed english workers said 'you wouldn't catch me doing' of were earning £1000 a week, and were, in fact, some of Poland's best agricultural graduates learning, I would guess, how bloody stupid the English are at taking up obvious opportunities right under their nose.
