Andrew Marr is paid £600k to spout his pseudo-communist nonsense on the BBC

Sorry I've been away for so long, but we had a family illness... thankfully all is OK now.

Anyway, I was outraged to learn that Andrew Marr is paid such massive sums of our money to read out Guardian editorials on the BBC - and we are not able to do anything about it. A fair salary for his job would be more like £60k.

If he wants to earn more, he could go and work for a private broadcaster.

All BBC salaries should be disclosed, in full, as soon as possible. Then, all BBC salaries should be capped at a maximum of £100k.

I do hope no-one missed me too much Grin.

what the hell's stalin got to do with it? quite unbelievable. i had hoped to be able to have a degree of reasoned debate on here but obv it's monopolised by one track minded and quite rude types who have their own agendas to ram down people's throats.

georgeorwell · 20/02/2011 21:33

don't believe fuck all i read in the washington post.is largely owned by buffet he of walmart.

claig · 20/02/2011 21:33

you said they were anti-communist, I am showing that they were actually anti-Stalinist, as they were Trotskyists. The Washington Post progression shows that.

claig · 20/02/2011 21:35

but don't you believe Ian Williams of the Guardian? It's not just in the Washington Post. There are many good leftwing thinkers who know about it too.

georgeorwell · 20/02/2011 21:38

did have a peek though and your first link is a critique of wrongheaded clutching at straws theories as outlined in this washington post one. claig i'm off cos just seen thrugh you and am a tad disappointed if truth be told. but don't think i'm leaving this section to be monopolised by you and t'other un.

claig · 20/02/2011 21:43

georgeorwell, look forward to seeing you again. Me and complimentary aren't monopolising anything, we are two of the few conservative types on here. We are just debating and learning. I am quite often wrong, and complimentary much less so.

georgeorwell · 20/02/2011 21:46

that washington post progression was so random and desperate they even cited george orwell. so in that case i'd like to cite bungle, sooty and the cheeky girls as behind the neocon movement.

i'm thinking claig and comp are 2 personalities residing in one aching head. comp takes over and goes into rude cow overdrive with lots of exclamation marks when claig's had enough of the pretending to be vaguely rational persona.

i'm sure MN offer therapy.

Newwave. I thought his performance on Question Time was very poor, he did not answer questions with much conviction, but then I did like the 'other's performances' either. I felt none of them were convincing.
When are we going to get some politicians that speak for the people? It is so disappointing. Sad

newwave · 20/02/2011 22:03

I am quite often wrong, and complimentary much less so.

Wrong, you are always wrong when you disagree with me. :o

As comp is a UKIP supporter I make allowances for her state of mind :o

claig · 20/02/2011 22:04

I thought Farage was good when he pushed Heseltine, who kept saying that we had enhanced our sovereignty by sharing it.

complimentary · 20/02/2011 22:05

Georgeorwell. If you recall myself and Claig welcomed you onto MN. Both of us are not the keepers of this site. But I was very pleasant to you, but you seem to resort to insults and then you get them back. If you expressed your argument/banter/ with good humour it would be far better for you and I would say me. I can't speak for others.

claig · 20/02/2011 22:06

newwave Smile. But that would mean I was wrong 100% of the time. Surely only Gordon Brown was wrong 100% of the time?

georgeorwell · 20/02/2011 22:12

i don't think you could do pleasant if you tried comp to anyone who gives as good as they get. but i've a thick skin..you know, being a cow and all that. (cue guffaws from the little englanders.)

newwave · 20/02/2011 22:12

But that would mean I was wrong 100% of the time.

Not 100% but close to it :o

georgeorwell · 20/02/2011 22:17

that's batten down the hatches

complimentary · 20/02/2011 22:18

George. A serious question, where you driven out of England?

complimentary · 20/02/2011 22:19

Ok I'll batten them down now!

newwave · 20/02/2011 22:20

Comp, that book you read "How to make friends and influence people" you need to read it again :o

complimentary · 20/02/2011 22:23

Claig. I thought Heseltine was another one who performed badly. He did not answer the question of sovereignty.
Goodnight to you all. Sleep tight! Smile

claig · 20/02/2011 22:24

Yes, Heseltine was poor. They all were really. Goodnight.

complimentary · 20/02/2011 22:27

Newwave. I only use it when needed! 'You can't gather honey by kicking over the beehive' but when the beehive keeps exploding, best to leave it alone! Grin

georgeorwell · 20/02/2011 22:30

no i wasn't driven out i was flown out of england. on a plane. do you geddit?? or will it haveto be explained to you? i really don't think i'll be coming back either if people like you seem to think you've got the upper hand.
