I'm sure there's a song title in there somewhere????

I just heard Nick on the BBC saying that he (Nick) "knew in his heart" that DM will be announcing he is leaving frontline politics tomorrow...

What do you think - will he/ won't he?

And what will he do next?

Personally I think he will go. I imagine he will have all sorts of interesting job offers on the table - he has proved himself as a very able politician/statesman.

I think he has to go so the Brothers At War epic is not played out in the media forever more.

But it's so weird. One minute at precipice of leading the Labour party and possibly becoming Prime Minister next election. To quitting politics entirely.

On a personal level for the Miliband family it's devastating. But I think the right brother won.

Worth considering, also, that the Brothers At War epic by no means over, regardless of whether DM stays or goes. Next election (obv) by no means in the bag - and then..?

Not sure which way this tips things for me, a propos the OP.

I don't think he should go, but I (think I) understand why he might feel he has to, either through sense of betrayal (rightly or wrongly) or simply for own sanity, given how skinny a tightrope he will have to walk if he stays.

I shoud imagine that if Labour win at the next election then DM will be back in the cabinet. He is looking after his own career.

Litchick, it IS one person one vote within the affiliated members section, as it is in the constituency party members section.
