Could Bob Crowe posssibly get London to hate him more?

The RMT are the NUM of today - and unlike the miners, no-one actually likes TfL staff or has any romantic notions about their work.

By the way, Ken Livingstone works from the offices of one of the striking unions, the TSSA.

So, MNers, how did you beat the strike and get into work today?

"The attitude on here to collective action is horrible" Thequark

I couldn't agree more! This thread is really depressing me. In fact, whenever trade unionism comes up on MN it makes me really depressed. Nice to know I'm not the only person on here who believes in the importance of trade unions, the right to strike and the value of collective bargaining :)

I agree with Rambling Rosa and The Quark - I got to work last Tuesday by bus and walking and then got a bus home on a route which starts near work. I was rather astonished to get home in about an hour, as my normal journey is probably about 40 minutes (minimum 30 mins but it never is).

"They are an essential service for the people of London and for the economy"

If they are essential for the people of london then let london pay.

As for the strikes

I wonder what the excuse will be come new years eve (again) even though it was promised that they would not strike on new years eve (again)
