I think my visit to Glastonbury has flipped the lid on all my emotions...

I feel like an emotional volcano - constantly going through cycles of sadness, compassion, panic, love, fear, hate... blimey.

Had a week in Glastonbury, we went to Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge where I went all Earth Mothery (as did dh but he won't admit it!) and round the town on two separate occasions. I bought stuff, ooh such lovely stuff!

In order to go on holiday I had to go on diazepam 2mg X 3 a day, could this emotional stuff be connected with that too, as obviously I haven't had any since the last day of our holiday (friday)

Or am I just a whacked out hippie lunatic? yes

We came home before Bank Holiday, but were there on the Saturday. We had breakfast & lunch in 100 Monkeys, maybe we passed by, we did book shops too.

I know Glasto is full of wierdos that's why I like it!!
I have tried to bring the experience home & have succeeded in not over-reacting & over-rationalising things. I am grounding and centring and focusing, all good things.
I hope we all get to meet up some time in the future, that would be great.

The first Mumsnet Woo convention, Earthymama.

Loved the bookshops and crystal shops. Could have spent an absolute fortune in each one!

Had to keep a very close eye on dd (4), she looks with her fingers and adores musical instrument and crystals of every size, shape and colour.

It's hard to describe what the workshop was about. They're always a bit of a journey, discovery about yourself, upliftment, healing and loads of fun. If you heard lots of laughter coming from the meeting room Earthy, that was us.

The energies coming in at the moment are really powerful, lots of healing and clearing going on. I've read that June is going to be more of the same here.

A MN Woo convention would be great!

Earthymama · 14/06/2010 00:10

I'm up for the Woo convention!

My life is much better since I found my spiritual path and I wish I could devote myself to it fully with no interuption!

I have stopped beating myself up over my sow progress in studying, goining new skills etc and jus doing what I can and loving what I discover.

Thank you Revelry for that link, I have signed up for the on-line course.

Blessings EM x

I took 5 13 yr olds to Glasto skate park yesterday. No woo at all. I did threaten offer to take them to have an organic lentil and quinoa burger in the town for lunch but they ran away screaming declined

I think I prefer my woo unmerchandised and independent. The shops and practitioners in glasto put me off really.

Nemofish · 14/06/2010 17:08

Does that mean that you are Local, Orm?

Yes. In Bridgwater! The antithesis of woo

Nemofish · 15/06/2010 19:04

Ah but you have the Bridgwater Carnival! Trop-i-cal!

Indeed! That great pinnacle of West Country culture Are you local too?

Earthymama · 16/06/2010 11:07

You have to pick and choose, to be truthful, we go in very few of the shops, Goddess and Green Man, Starchild, a witchy one in the Gauntlet. I don't even think about them, apart from the book shops, of course.
Though I did love the Wardrobe and bought lots of clothes there.

Are you a youth worker Orm?
That was my prevous incarnation, before caring for my Mum and family stuff made me crazy.

I did a Amnesty Flash action and got chatting to lots of 'cool' kids and it made me very nostalgic.
Then DP came home and reminded me of the grim realities! No, I do miss youth work, it's an undervalued profession.

OrmRenewed · 16/06/2010 11:20

No not a youth worker earthy. Just the mum of a 13yr old obsessed with skateboarding, who has many similarly obsessed mates!

Don't misunderstand me, I love some of the things they sell but somehow the shops make it all feel like just another life-style choice iyswim.

Earthymama · 16/06/2010 11:29

Yes I feel there is no 'spirit' just commercial opportunities and I avoid those shops.
There is one newish place in Glastonbury that I felt had very dark energy; DP had told me but I insisted on seeing for myself and I was really uncomfortable there.

You'll come to our Woo convention, though, orm? T'wil not be blighted by commercialism, though in my case there may be lentils!

Nemofish · 16/06/2010 15:38

Well I would be travelling a long way for the Woo convention, I'm in Yorkshire!

I could do some reiki and past life regression for you guys though.

I'll be taking my Karuna reiki attunements in just under two weeks.

There was only one shop were I felt uncomfortable, I wonder if we are thinking of the same one?
I usually 'go' by the shopkeeper though, if they are friendly and nice and obviously have a genuine interest / passion for what they are selling, that's fine.

I would be wary of anywhere that sold some crystals, candles and cath kidston stuff. Not that there's anything wrong with cath kidston!

I live just down the road and used to live in Glastonbury itself. My lid has been well and truly flipped for a long time! It's the heart centre of the planet you know!

poshsinglemum · 17/06/2010 22:40

There is DEFINATELY a dark side to glastonbury. It's not all sweetness, light and healing energies. It can get very nasty which is why I left but I keep visiting.

Earthymama · 17/06/2010 22:46

We need to acknowledge tha dark energy in life, in death, there would be no light without darkness.
I just felt in one place i visited that there was an underlying negative energy that offered me nothing I could embrace.

Well, it did have some nice candles........
