Christian's in Bedford: Where do you worship and why?

We are relocating to Bedford from the Lake District in July and don't really know the area at all.

There are so many churches online that look good on paper, and we certainly won't have time to visit them all with a 2yo and new born, so would like to narrow it down a bit so we can settle in quickly. Sooooo....

Where do you worship and why?

I'm totally up for a home fellowship too, so please don't feel like anything is off limits. Just want to get to know some of the churches from the insider point of view IYSWIM.

I went a few times to this church in Bedford

www.kingsarms.org/

(don't live locally was visiting a friend) but this was 10 years ago. Then it was a lively church, good sound biblical teaching, live your life filled with HS, pray for each other expecting God to move/bring healing/etc

If you're keen to know more I can find out if my friends friend still goes there?

Gracie123 · 23/03/2010 21:05

yeah, that's one of the ones I've seen online. I've been a bit hesitant about new frontiers, just because of the stance they take on women, but I know they aren't all like that.
Might be helpful if your friend knows how they feel about that kind of stuff?

I shall see if they still go!

You could contact them and ask them what is their position on "women" and ask them specifics?

Gracie123 · 23/03/2010 21:13

It would seem that simple wouldn't it? Unfortunately we have done that with churches in the past who insist they are fine with it, but once you are involved start changing the rules.

I guess because the main NFI group have some theological differences with me, I can't really expect their churches to be different, but I don't like the idea of tarring all churches in a denomination with the same brush. I used to be part of soulsurvivor (a youth church) which was anglican, but most peoples description of anglican would not have described it at all.

Have been to SS in Watford, no not typically Anglican at all!

Hi I've found out and she moved to Birmingham a while ago.

Something that did occur to me is that if you go and you sense it is where God wants you perhaps it's because he wants you to help bring about change within

I speak as someone who has struggled at my current church in the past due to their lack of corporate prayer and it's been a long wait but it has really changed.
