What did you think of it?

I read it when I was into the new age stuff. I found it really fuzzy and disjointed. Hard to read.

I liked the parts about the energy found in nature and in human beings. And about the way in which we interact with one another.

The stuff about how children should be brought up by both parents was very idealised, I was brought up by a lone parent and it made me cringe - just a little. It seemed to verge on preaching to me, but maybe I am over-sensitive...

I really liked the ideas behind it. Not a very 'sophisticated' writing style though so did feel a little annoying in parts

Yes I know what you mean, I felt a bit patronised at times - but then I consider myself to be already aware of subjects like 'life force' energy, auras, synchronicity etc.

If the book had been my first introduction to these things, perhaps I would have felt differently.

Anyone read anything along the same subject matter but better?

I must do, but my mind's gone blank!

What are you interested in? eg. the self help aspect, or simply new age ideas and theories.

The energy in nature bit also relates to various 'earth based religions' as they call it on amazon, like like Paganism, or Shamans- does that interest you?

Im a massive reader, if you want to tell me a bit more about what you're looking for I'm sure I can come up with some recommendations

I am interested in Shamanism, paganism (we are a lapsed pagan household, really) especially in relation to self help, using visualisation and stuff to heal past ishoos etc.

About the Celestine prophesy;
I read it more than 25 years ago or thereabouts when it first became a very big hit and hip read for its genre(philosophy or spiritualism). I loved it and felt a real affinity with the author James Redfield. My mantra with any read especially of this genre is to be discerning always which means to pick out what resonates and is useful to me and disregard the rest.
For me what resonates then and still does to this day and so I consider it useful is the message that Redfield hands to his readers with such clarity and sincerity that 'humans all pull energy horizontally from each other usually from the lower belly button area chakra and how this whole action gets so unnecessarily repeated day in day out by some less enlightened people. The gift being intelligently announced loud and clear by James Redfield is that instead of a total tug of war that wastes energy and causes worry stress and anger, triggering judgement, bitterness and resentment all a person has to do is realise first that the source of pure, rejuvenating and healing energy is from above. Always vertically from above and so it's our challenge as readers and much more than that human beings readers or not to tap into that infinite source and live out ours lives accordingly.
I'm Jamie Isaac's and thank you for reading my thoughts on the Celestine prophesy. Lastly for me the rest of the book is neither here nor there just fun to read.
