....during Lent?
My sister was looking to baptize her dd2 in March. But I have heard somewhere that the church doesn't do this during Lent. Is this true?
Thanks

They normally discourage it but it will depend on the priest

They can do it but they're often reluctant to baptise during Advent and Lent, just as they're reluctant to conduct marriages during those periods.

Depends on the priest - our parish priest will conduct baptisms during Advent but not during Lent and he doesn't do marriages in either period.

Yep, jc is right. Often you have to do a course on baptism these days anyway so that's probably a good time to find out.

They generally don't baptise during lent, something to do with not celebrating during lent. That's why there's always loads of baptisms on Easter Sunday. And also adult RCIA's fully received into the Churchat the Easter Vigil.
