Can someone explain the ifference between Anglo-Catholic and Church of England please.

I've just returned from church, a church I always believed to be CofE. The vicar told me that it is actually Anglo-Catholic.

Is this the same as high-church?

The Church of England is catholic otherwise what do we mean when we proclaim we believe in on holy catholic and apostolic church. unless we are saying we believe in something that we are not? I don't think this can be the case!
