Hi, I am a Godparent and would appreciate anyones advice on if it is appropriate to send a card to my Godchild on the anniversary of her christening and if anyone know where you find these cards? Thank you in advance.

Have not heard of it, but am sure the parents will think it is very thoughtful.

I went to one CofE chritening where the vicar asked the Godparents to remember the aniversary of the christening.

I think it would be a lovely thing to do - I'm sure the parents would be very pleased, but I've never seen any specific cards. (Although I haven't actually looked)

Hi,
What a lovely idea.

Church publishing websites do make Baptism anniversary cards but they are printed inside from the church family, so would not be appropriate. I have fiddled on yoodoo.com and could alter the text on the front and inside cards to fit so that might be worth a try.

Hope this is useful.

Our church sends these to our DSs every year on the anniversaries of their christening. It's a lovely thought. How about getting a blank card and putting your own message in?

The Mothers' Union used to do them but I can't find any on their website, this site does them but apparently only in packs of 10! Obviously meant for Churches I guess.

Lovely idea to remember it though - you sound like a good godparent - well done!

When our goddaughter was christened the vicar said she should have a cake on the anniversary of her christening to put the christening candle in - so we buy her a cake every year.

DD's godparents buy her a book every year on the anniversary.
