Here's a list of traditional ones used in the C of E : www.cofe.anglican.org/lifeevents/weddings/musicreadings.html

I had the Colossians one, which is very nice. The Corinthians one is very traditional - the "love is x,y,and z" which most people will have head at a few weddings [smmile]

We had the Colossians one too - I've heard the Corinthians one so many times I wanted something different.

We had Ecclesiastes 4 v 8-12 as it says "two are better than one" and about keeping each other warm at night! And 1 John 4, v 7-12 is lovely. I really like the Corinthians one, if you can live up to that definition of love then you will be very happy together! but I agree it does get used alot.

You have to be careful with the Ecclesiastes reading, as in some translations it sounds rude!

I could suggest a lot of good stuff.

But do mind me asking - just how "Christian" are the happy couple.

I mean, we were delighted to have readings which referred a lot to God's love for us/CHrist's love in His sacrifice etc .... but we are really quite serious about our faith and that seemed appropriate to us.

If it is nominal/non churchgoing people, then the choices are a bit more limited IYSWIM.

MaryBS - We used the "New Contemporary" Version.
Just noticed the date of the original post - when is/was the wedding??
