ruty · 28/01/2009 16:10

she is around, but taking it easy. I think it has been all rather stressful. Just don't mention the debacle.....

AMumInScotland · 28/01/2009 16:34

She's supposedly having a bit of a break, but has popped in here and there...

TheFirstLiffey · 28/01/2009 16:34

hope so. She had to change her name from revjustabout to just justabout.

fryalot · 28/01/2009 16:37

I hoped she hadn't left because of that. Twas bloody awful.

Good to see that she's popping in and out.

Aye, she's in hiding in the priest hole at the moment, but we're feeding her the occasional cup of tea/slice of cake

katiek123 · 28/01/2009 17:02

am SO curious but do not want to intrude on the rev's business, rev i know you are around bcs we chatted earlier today - i have heard many mentions of this dark mysterious business but do not have a clue what actually happened - is anyone allowed to fill me in in one sentence flat or is this a she-who-cannot-be-named kind of issue? and do i really have to stop calling you rev, rev?

amber32002 · 28/01/2009 17:11

Mumsnet and Rev agreed that people were getting confused about whether rev was here as an official rev for mumsnet or not so decided she might drop the rev bit..and meantime a few posters had gotten the wrong idea and thought she was a Fake Rev which she isn't and said some rather things, so now she's having a rest. And tea and cake...so we can still call her Rev, yes, because she is.

There you are, in one sentence. Prayers continuing for her.

katiek123 · 28/01/2009 17:21

for goodness sake. and . thanks amber that was just the ticket for enlightening me. thoughts and prayers going rev's way from this end too x

Lulumama · 28/01/2009 17:24

i hope she is back on top form soon

i missed the debacle.

was horrified in retrospect

fryalot · 28/01/2009 18:05

lulu - it was absolutely disgusting! I heart the rev a lot and I know that she is a real rev. I have witnessed her dog-collar and I have been physically inside a rl church with her. I told them all this and they still came back to have another go at her.

Twas very twuntish imo.

Give the rev some chocolate cake from me when you next pass her some goodies and tell her I'll be in touch soon re: sunday lunch...

I've decided to do the "Anglican" thing and bring in a supply of G&T for her...
There's even a choice of Gordon's or Plymouth! So, ice and a slice, Rev?

I should just mention that I'm NOT a Rev but have agreed to assist with the Reluctant Worshipper thread... many thanks to RubySlippers for this month's contribution (hint hint)

fryalot · 28/01/2009 18:42

Mary, you shouldn't have to add that! Tis good of you to step in for her.

Let her know that I will do whatever I can to help as well (within reason )

Lulumama · 28/01/2009 19:04

i've read ruby's piece, it is lovely ! you will all enjoy it

fryalot · 28/01/2009 19:08
OP posts:
fryalot · 28/01/2009 19:12

that was beautiful, thank you for guilting me into reading it, lulu

only astoundingly thick people could be confused. others were advocating for the apparently irrevocable braindead (that IMO don't exist on MN) and using their unending skills of advocacy on behalf of the braindead, caused this utter purile shite and showed themselves to be tits.

and coined the phrase 'moldy raid'

twats

Lulumama · 28/01/2009 19:20

not sure i quite understood custy, but you like the rev, no?

is ruby;s piece up? she emailed it to me t'otehr day

fryalot · 28/01/2009 19:22

I think I must be one of the astoundingly thick people that custy spoke of, as I can't quite understand her post either

yes, rubyslippers's post is up. It is very moving. Made me smile and almost teared me up at one stage

OP posts:
MaryBS · 28/01/2009 19:33

Ruby's masterpiece

I agree squonk, I shouldn't have to say I'm not a Rev, but Rev shouldn't have to hide the fact she's a Rev either.

fryalot · 28/01/2009 19:42

no, mary, you're absolutely right, she shouldn't! She was so pleased when she became a rev, it's a shame to hide her light under a bushel

(did you see what I did there? )

OP posts:
MaryBS · 28/01/2009 19:45

I'm impressed...

(FWIW I AM training for ministry, but as a Licensed Lay Minister or Reader, but if I were to mention "Lay" on MN, who knows what people might think I'm qualified to advise on )

fryalot · 28/01/2009 21:15

oh yes, I can well imagine

lizziemun · 28/01/2009 21:17

I don't realy know what to say as i never post in this section.

But i hope 'rev' doesn't/hasn't leave/left as she helped me early this month when i was asking about humanist funeral's as my dad had just died and he has requested one (and is tommorrow afternoon). I didn't matter to me whether she was a reverend or not she took the time to post and point me in the direction of a thread that was disscusing them. And which i found useful.

I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense.

fryalot · 28/01/2009 21:20

it makes perfect sense, lizziemum.

The rev is, and always has been, a much valued member of mumsnet. Her posts are funny and intelligent and she always takes the time to try and help people.

Sorry about your dad, hope tomorrow goes as well as it can
