At this dark time of year we'll light candles to signify that light, sunshine, warmth and new life will return.

We'll look back at what's happened in the last year, how we responded, our feelings and actions and try to learn from these lessons.

We'll give thanks for our families and friends and for the blessings around us.

We'll send our blessings to those who have touched our lives, even if it was in a new-fangled way, through that inter-linking web of acquaintances that is MN, so Bright Blessings for a Merry Yule to you all,

EM

Back from Stonehenge

Merry Yule

PoinsettiasScareMe, how lovely

We would have liked to be at the Chalice Well in Glastonbury but I've got the lurgi that's around.

We've been out to gather greenery so will make some wreaths. i'm sad to be poorly because I've been looking forward to this day, but it'll be fine.

We're having a Yuletide meal, veggie Christmas dinner, so hope I feel well enough to do it justice.

Midwinter greetings to all. Sadly my plans were scuppered (local guided Shortest Day walk learning about trees) by DS being ill, but I am having a drop of wine and drinking to a better year ahead.

I know now why we need Yule, it was so lovely to stop last night, think about the last year and look forward to the next, hopefully with a bit more awareness of how to be more positive.

to see all the candles shining on a dark evening was lovely too.

I'm sorry sgpr that you too are poorly, i recommend honey, lemon, ginger and nutmeg in hot water, liberally doused with any strong alcohol of your choice!! I'll be having one at the end of the work day

Merry Yule to all.

Could do with a good dose of something positive as the festivities here are distinctly flat due to me and the baby being ill.

Just wondering what reflection I can draw from the fact that every thing we have planned in the run up to the festive fortnight has been either attended in a zombie like state due to extreme sleep deprivation or cancelled due to someone being ill.

Not feeling hopeful for the traditional family events we still have on the calendar.

May have to swap all other festive drinks for earthymama's intoxicating honey concoction.

Hello there, Sorry I missed your post AlderTree, DP and I, DD and DGC all been really poorly so have only been doing sporadic MNing. We had Christmas lunch together today and I really enjoyed it, the first day I really had an appetite.I have a feeling I'm going to have flu for the rest of my days, and that it is lurking , waiting to pounce!!

I'm going to recuperate In Glastonbury for the New Year so I want to say Happy New Year to you all.

Remember that there is light in the darkness, that there is light in our lives too. If we sit quietly and let it shine through to us, from the smallest spark of hope joy and peace can grow.

So Happy New Year to everyone, pagan or not, and I send you Bright Blessings for 2009.
