Can I take my children to a methodist or Cof E midnight mass on 24th?

Have been thinking about attending the late christmas eve service as have never been to one before. Two churches nearby are doing 11.15pm and 11.30 services. I am hoping my 2 year old will be fast asleep and we can just transfer him into his pushchair, I also have a 6 year old.
One is a methodist church that my daughter has been going to sunday school to in the last few months, the other is a CofE small church (only 1 other toddler that I know of in congregation) that I have been to a few times).

i have never been to a midnight service before, and I dont have anyone that can babysit as my parents are abroad. Would it be a huge Faux pas if we turned up? My husband is interested in coming too, otherwise i would go on my own.
Is it socially acceptable? or do we have to wait until they are older?

I dont want to upset the local congregation, so need your advice please...

Thank you

I wouldn't, I'd take them to the family service on Thursday (xmas day)

The midnight service is usually just for adults.

Sometimes there's a nice carol service at about five the sunday before. That's lovely for children 4 or 5 up.

I'm not sure anyone would tut-tut but do you really want a 6 year old on xmas day who's been up after midnight?

Yes, you're right.
Will take them to a family service instead. Thanks for your help.

isn't there a christmas eve mass, our church aleways has one at half six on christmas evem, definately family orientated and your dc's will blend in with all the other kids being lugged along coz their parents know it will be impossible to drag them out of teh house on christmnas day

if there is a family service I would take them to that i know that we're running a christingle service at 5 on christmas eve which is much fun.

saying that you would be more thanwelcome to bring your kids to the 11.30 as well. just if your going to be up at 4 opening presents with dc they might need a bit more sleep!

There's only a 9.30am holy communion at the CofE church or the 11.30pm one, at the methodist there is no christmas eve service apart from the 11.15pm one, but there is a family service at the Methodist church on the 25th. So I guess will take them to that, and we can draw straws as which one of us can go alone to the late service on 24th
Thanks for your help peeps, really appreciated.

Worth looking for a Christingle Service on Christmas Eve if anywhere local has one - candles, oranges, sweets and small children. Lovely!
