Thankyou so much for this thread. DD came home from nursery having made a card saying Eid Mubarak and I wasn't sure what it meant.

DS who is 12 explained he had learned at school that Eid is the end of Ramadan, so I guessed from that that Eid Mubarak meant 'Happy Eid', but I'd be really grateful if you could explain a bit more what this festival means for you.

Ramadan ia the month of fasting, and Eid is the festival that marks the end of the month. I'm sure someon on here can explain it so much better, but to me, Eid is a time of family and togetherness, and remembering the blessings in our lives. It also involves lots of tasty food (I can remember as a child, by bedtime I was always pleasantly sick from too many sweets, which in childhood is a sign of a wonderful day!)

Thanks Fragolina
