What spiritual practice has helped you the most? I have explored so many things and find myself quite stuck at the moment. I want to get back on a spiritual path.

Gratitude for nature. It helps me so much to be outdoors and thankful.

itstoolateforsnacks · 19/10/2026 22:48

Meditation and learning to control my mind.

sillysusan · 19/10/2026 22:55

Not sure if spiritual but daily meditation and gratitude has changed my life.

i turned to this following the loss of my dad which nearly broke me. I am now happy with my life and grateful for everything that I have and have had in it. I’m a very lucky lady

I think @Chumpingtonquinces approach is excellent. Try to see yourself as part of a greater whole, and envisaging that unity and wholeness as inherently good, a light that darkness cannot overcome.

It is also lovely to light a candle in a beautiful church and in your mind say a prayer for someone. Imagine they are part of a great light.

@SignsofLife If I leave the Church to one side , I think the Serenity Prayer ( originally composed by Reinhold Niebuhr and taken up by AA inter alia ) is really something of a wise way to reflect upon things. There have been many versions over time but this is the most popular I think & its relevance is wide I think. "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference" . Also I find great comfort in my tiny patio garden , I just love the way that plants bloom , die off and then come back again the next year , come what may. It may sound silly to you but it always reminds me , whatever is happening at the moment , my two roses will bloom again next Spring.
@Mysticguru I love that Rumi short poem.
I think any kind of meditation or thinking which does not catastrophize the moment and looks at things longer term is helpful ( to me)

💐to you

Meditation and yoga.
It got me through a very difficult personal time few years ago, honestly, it saved my life. I am currently still doing yoga, but slacking on my meditation practice and I feel the difference. Have to get back on the horse.

I have a deep spiritual practice, although I am not religious. I work with the divine feminine and earth energy.

Gratitude

Being in nature. Walking around a lake looking at the trees and ducks. It destressed me and makes he feel happy.

Attending Quaker meetings. I love that there is no creed - exactly what it means to you is for you to work out. This summer the meeting I attend had some outside meetings in a local forest area; that was lovely.

Today is was composing and praying very hard a prayer of protection over us (as we’re being spiritually attacked/abused)

walking in nature and being in the world

a deep tissue massage to get your head connected to your body to relax. I also have Reflexology too, same reason

being with likeminded people

a song bath is good too

and for me both yoga and Pilates for the physicality and mindfulness aspects of it

(in general with me I get trapped in my head so anything that gets me out of head into body is really necessary for me)

Depends what you mean by "spiritual". There are many tools that could be classed as spiritual, but could be also considered mainstream. Meditation for instance, shadow work or psychological integration.

Are you saying that no such thing exists as a mainstream spiritual practice? That's the aim, for more people to become in touch with their spiritual awareness as opposed it being a fringe practice.

I agree with these two things. Both work incrementally over time, I’ve found. But they definitely work when done consistently.

Daily recital of the Rosary. It’s deep. It’s very beautiful. And you can be aware that thousands of other people all around the world are saying it at the same time as you. It takes twenty minutes. It manifests blessings.

A very simple candle ritual and mindfulness.

Watching sunrise

Following wheel of the year.
