Zoroastrians in the UK highlighted in new Harrow exhibition - BBC News

I think it's nice to see Zoroastrianism getting some attention at an upcoming exhibition.

It's a very old religion (born in Persia) but is now only practiced by a tiny minority, and the majority have either never heard of it or are unfamiliar with it. There are only around 5,000 Zoroastrians in the UK.

Two young women pose for a photo in an outdoor area - both are wearing colourful sari-like garments known as garas.

I used to work with a Zoroastrian - her surname was Subedar - and in the first week of working together I asked her about her surname as it wasn't one I had come across before. It was fascinating - the three day stay of the soul and the Chinvat Bridge. She was a lovely woman.

Thanks for posting this. DD is fascinated by Zoroastrianism and I’ll try to take her along.

I remember being told by a Zoroastrian lady that its important message is ‘say good things, think good things and do good things.’ A nice message for everyone! It’s a really interesting and very old religion to learn about. I imagine most people will be familiar with the bird symbol but not know anything about it.
