Please could I ask for your prayers?

I know everyone has their troubles and so I feel bad for asking. But I would be so, so grateful.

Both of my children are being bullied. They are both somewhere on the autistic spectrum. They have been bullied before and we took steps to help them.

Practically there is little to be done now.

I ask for your prayers. That they may acquire some true friends, and not be seen as targets.

Yes, I will pray right now. Very distressing for you all. Big hugs. 🙏🏻

You might want to post this on the Christian board too

Anopenheart, I will say a prayer for children. I wanted to say to you, I am diagnosed with autism as well and level 2 in some things like sensory. I wanted to say to you that the Holy Spirit can help protect you with autism and if your children are not baptised and do not have the gifts of the Holy Spirit yet that you might want to consider this. The Holy Spirit can have many roles and one of them is protection.

Jesus said he would send his followers a comforter which is the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). Jesus said he would send his followers a comforter to support them in their journey as a Christian. The Holy Spirit has many roles, helper, healer, protector, motivation, confidence, intercessor, advocate, strengthener, standby, comforter, counsellor, baptiser and a sanctifier. The Holy Spirit can also help you learn to care for yourself spiritually and also holistically.

I want to share with you a post how the Holy Spirit has supported me with autism.

I will pray now. Dear Heavenly Father, please protect this family from harm, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Praying for you and your children now. I hope things look up for them soon - I know how hard it is to send your children to school each day and not know what bad thing might happen next.

Anopenheart · 22/01/2026 21:58

I will pray for everyone on this thread. @Lovemybunniesit is heartbreaking isn’t it.

@JustmerachThey’re both diagnosed. They were each baptised as babies but I’m afraid weren’t taken to church regularly, which is on me, because I should have insisted. I very much regret that now.

They are teenagers now.

I pray for them all the time. Every morning when they leave and throughout the day. I visualise protection for them.

@Justmerach - your blog is a beautiful testimony

@Anopenheart try not to focus on the past and regrets that you weren’t able to take the dc to church regularly.
i pray for peace and wisdom for you as you guide and support them.
i pray that from tomorrow there will begin to be small improvements in the situation and that they find themselves in the company of kinder children and that the bullies move on.

Anopenheart · 22/01/2026 22:09

@TremendousThirstYes, that is where we are. So when anything good happens it’s hard to enjoy it because of the feeling of looking over one’s shoulder.

Have yours left school now? Are they managing better because they don’t have to go into school? You might not want to answer, which is fine - obviously.

Anopenheart · 22/01/2026 22:16

@Nomorecoconutboosts that means the world to me, thank you.

I can’t be objective obviously, but I just keep thinking if only these children took the trouble to find out how funny, kind and clever they are, Instead of sorting for difference. I think with teenagers now more than ever, they have to belong to a pack and can’t take the risk of sticking their neck out (to befriend someone new). I’m very grateful that you have thought carefully about us.

Grateful to all of you.

I’ve found your blog enormously uplifting @Justmerach

I know this is in philosophy & you're asking for prayers, but that's just not me.

i hope lots of live & strength is just as welcome as im sending you & your kids those! 🤗🥰

it's beyond me his nasty some people can be to those with different or additional needs, it is very very hard xx

Nomorecoconutboosts · 22/01/2026 22:28

@Anopenheart it is hard when a lot of the other teenagers seem to be in established friendship groups.
just a thought and it may not be helpful. If there are any lunchtime clubs this can be useful not just for potentially meeting likeminded friends, but they can provide a break/sanctuary from children who are being bullies.

I will pray for them both as well.

FrogAndToadMakeCookies · 23/01/2026 06:48

I will pray for them 🙏🏽 xx

Anopenheart · 23/01/2026 09:34

@Nomorecoconutboostsyou are absolutely right in what you say - clubs can be a seam of friendship but also give respite from what is going on in other areas. One DC has been able to make use of clubs, but the other doesn’t feel able to access them. He has the feeling of having been burned and so doesn’t want to risk it. (He sees it as risk, you and I know that it would almost certainly be a positive thing to do.) I think I might have another go at trying to persuade him.

@JanuaryJasmine
Of course your good vibes are welcome. Am very grateful for them. 🙏

Oh op. I'm so sorry. I'm an atheist but couldn't read and run. I am saying a little prayer for all of you just in case. I hope that's ok. Also sending you lots of good wishes and vibes and just everything good. 🍀

MarxistMags · 23/01/2026 21:22

I'll say a prayer too.
God bless them and keep them safe 🙏
