my grandson has been talking about his Both parents agreed he would not be as both parents have different religions and would celebrate both religious events and child would not eat pork
This year my daughter and ex split up and it not been easy split This month father was given right to see child once a week and every other Saturday so spends the rest of time with mum
Now grandson’s other grandparents and father are arranging him for to be babtized and talking. About that there is nothing wrong with eating pork.
This information makes sense to me why grandson is turning his affections from my husband I think they want to be a wedge between them as mums religion comes from sad.

DM is Catholic, DDad was not. A very long time ago.... (50 yrs) my non-Catholic father had to convert, and both my parents had to be present, for me to be baptized Catholic. As i say, it was a long time ago.... it's possble that they may have lightened up a bit now.

Likewise, but my Dad did not convert. Dad was respectful about it though, a Catholic friend of his became my godfather. There were some people who my mum and dad thought made a special effort to come miles for their wedding because they had never been in a Catholic church before.

Do both parents have Parental Responsibility (PR)? In the UK, a Catholic father cannot unilaterally have the child baptised if the mother has parental responsibility and objects.

The Catholic priest is likely to hesitate or refuse to perform a baptism if he knows or suspects one parent strongly objects.

Is it just CoE then where anyone can baptise?
