Religious slump

Hi all,
I’m catholic. I’ve been in a religious slump recently, I’m unsure how to get out of it. I try to read the bible every day, I’ve stopped doing that on and off for the past month. I’ve also been praying about something personal for a long time and my prayers aren’t being answered at all. I know it may sound stupid or like I’m being impatient but i genuinely feel as though the prayer that’s not being answered is deeply affecting my life. I think this is also contributing to my religious slump. Was just wondering /hoping if anyone had any advice about how they managed to overcome things like this.
thanks in advance

Hi. I have two bits of advice - one secular, the other religious. I think particularly put together they will help. One is affirmations. They really do work, as they programme your expectations and focus on to the desired outcome. Its important to frame the affirmation in very positive terms and in the present, never the future, and to keep it short. Then repeat it as often as possible, over and over. An example would be - "I am always in perfect health".

In the gospels - I do not remember which - we are told to pray believing that what we ask has already been done. Ask with huge faith in the knowledge that it is answered. This is a challenge to faith, but the same passage says if a child asks its father for an egg, will he give him a stone? And consider the birds of the air - sparrows that cost 5 for 2 pennies, yet each one is known to the Father. How much more you than the birds? Every hair on your head is counted.
Best wishes OP.

From a Christian perspective …God hears all our prayers. He does not necessarily answer them in our timing, nor always in the way we want. He sees the greater picture and it is always done according to His perfect will. You are not stupid (your word) but maybe impatient (your word) agreed, but you are also human. How to overcome it? Suggestions: You Rest in Him; share with your Ministers; share with a Christian mentor or prayer buddy / prayer group; change what it is that you want, or are asking for. By including others, you may get a ‘word of knowledge’ but be prepared that it may not be what you want to hear. https://www.gotquestions.org/does-God-answer-prayers.html

Does God answer prayers? Why does it seem like God never answers my prayers? How can I tell if God answers a prayer with a no?

Prayer is always answered. But not necessarily the answer we want.
