Hallow app

Someone on here (I think more than one person,) recommended the Hallow app for Christian prayer, meditation etc. I just downloaded it today and am really impressed with. Thank you so much for recommending it. So full of information and inspiration. Haven't done much on there yet of course, but I've signed up the advent challenge and looked at a few readings. Off to bed shortly with something from the sleep section too.
Really feeling motivated to get more connected with God.
So thanks so much.

I've just downloaded the Amen app, which is similar but I'm hoping has more free content. I like Hallow, but so much of it is only for paid users.

Oh that sounds good.
I'm ok with paying for the app but I do think it would be handier to pay monthly in case you don't continue to use it.

Just in case anyone else reads this and is interested- I've realised you can pay monthly. It's £9.49 a month. Or £65 a year.

I have just signed up for 3 Month trial for 4.99.
hopefully that will be enough time for me to see if it’s worth keeping and paying for.

@Chocolateismylovelife oh that sounds good. I get notifications to extend my free trial to a 3 month period, but when I click on the link, it doesn't take me anywhere. So I've emailed them to see if I'm eligible for 3 months.
I've used it for a few weeks now and it definitely has me praying and studying more, which was the goal. There are a few things I'm not keen on, on it, the music and chants aren't my cup of tea and some of the prayer voices I find a bit grating, but I think I will keep it up for a while at least. I'm looking forward to the advent challenge.
I've also been using she reads truth, which I like but so far only used the free things on there. Don't want to commit to too much, all at once and end up getting overwhelmed and doing nothing.

How are you getting on with it? I looked at it, but the background music plays continually, which I didn't like!

You can change that, if you're on the homepage there's a musical note just above where it says good morning/afternoon. Click that and it'll give you the background music settings

@Troubledwords oh thank you. I'll try again!
I don't mind paying for an app that I actually use.. but there is another part of me that thinks.. paying to PRAY? Really? Especially when the company is clearly absolutely loaded!

@Troubledwords I've been trying out the Amen app. It really is very similar to Hallow isn't it. The one thing I really do prefer on Hallow is the daily reflection with Jeff Cavins. Other than that, there's not much in it. I'm not loving the music section on either and I'm not one for listening to chants and things in latin so I'm really only there for the scripture readings, which of course you can do yourself for free. I'm going to use both until next week when my free Hallow trial ends and then decide if I want to continue using it or not. Thank you for the recommendation 😊
