Ramadan/ Eid gift ?

We have new neighbours who are Muslim. I would love to drop a gift round - is it more appropriate to gift for Ramadan or wait for Eid? And what is an appropriate gift ? There are 8 adults and 6 children.

We waited for Eid when our new neighbours moved in. But took a homemade dish round for one of their iftar fast breaks

If you want to take a small Ramadan gift, dates and Vimto are popular for iftar. They will be well received.

I think waiting for Eid is the usual thing to do. Chocolate is a good shout.

I think that's really lovely of you.

I wanted to take something in for my work colleagues who are observing Ramadan but this suggests I should wait until Eid is that right? What would then be an appropriate gift?
if I was to take something in now are dates the only suggestion?
many thanks

tbh it's the thought that counts. eid/ramadan - either would be appreciated. chocs or fruit are a safe idea. :-)

That's a large family. I'm a Muslim and I think for Eid a cake or a muffin basket or a fruit platter or something similar would be very suitable and appropriate. In a pinch a box of chocolates is always appreciated!

I send foods to my neighbors during Ramadan too and that can be anything from cookies to cakes to a fruit platter to a main dish. I made ice cream yesterday and sent that over.

It's your thoughts that count and it's incredibly kind and generous of you to think about it.

No you don't have to wait. You can take anything!
If you're taking it during work hours then I'd suggest nothing that needs reheating so maybe a cake/biscuits/dates/chocolates/fruits and they can have it when they break their fast at home.

For Eid I have similar recommendations and cakes/desserts are always appreciated. In a pinch a box of chocolates always goes down very well!
I have on occasions buy ready made cookies/muffins and just rearranged it on a nice tray or basket and decorated it with rose petals and given that as gifts. But there's no right or wrong. It's your thoughts that count and your friend would appreciate anything 💕
