Pagan/Druid ‘wheel of the year’ question

So, here’s a quick question - do the periods of time between the different pagan festivals have names/significations?

so e.g. the time from Yule until Imbolc would be called…? During this time you focus on XYZ…?

Or if there aren’t ‘official’ ones, do people practicing in this area of spirituality have ideas on this that work for you?

Asking as someone dipping my toe (well, maybe currently up to my shins!) in all this and thinking how I can organise the rhythms of my year more around this system

I am solitary so if there are any official names I don't know them.
But for example the current period between Samhain and Yule I normally focus on introspection and have a mental 'tidy up'. Collect my thoughts from the previous periods, ' What have I learnt this year, etc...'
Another example would be Imbolc to Ostara where I focus on goal setting , e.g what do I want to achieve in the garden this year. It's all up to ourselves to focus on whatever we want though tbh.
Emma Restel Orr used to have a free course based on the wheel of the year on the BDO website, I think. It might be worth a look if it is still there.

Hi, thanks so much for your reply! I guess I’m solitary too - moved to a rural area a few years ago and just found between being more immersed in nature and at the mercy of the seasons I was being drawn ever more into pagan and Druid rhythms and concepts! I don’t really know what to call myself/the process - I’m a sort of reluctant hedgerow witch?! 😂

I really like the idea of setting particular intentions for the different intervals between festivals - like you say thinking about what might come up or need our attention in that time.

I couldn’t find that course you mentioned, but will look up the facilitator and see what else I can find - thanks again!

I’ve never come across any official names either.

I too use the current pre Yule period as a chance to take stock and withdraw inwards for a while.

Candlemas is the time for new beginnings so I use the time prior to that to set goals for the next year and to start new projects.
