Hi Ladies.

I'm not feeling in a very Christian mood this morning. My MIL has announced that she is going to come and visit us on 14th April for the weekend even though she knows that this is the only weekend DH isn't working during April and it follows DH being away for the best part of a fortnight. I really want to tell her that she isn't welcome but I can't really do this. I did try saying that I didn't know if we are around (as I didn't know) and pointed out that if we are then we only have that weekend and that DH has been away. All she could say was 'at least you have DD to keep you company'

I've had an interesting week. DD is still poorly (threw up all over me in bed last night whilst DH wasn't here). I've also decided to turn down a new job as I'm enjoying my job at the hospital so much. My boss is going to look into the possibility of doing an NVQ. This will help me in the long term as I'm hoping to go and study to become a midwife when we've finished having our family.

MaryBS · 29/03/2008 10:48

Aw SS! Can you tell her that DH has arranged a surprise weekend away for that weekend...? Is that an option for you? Its not fair that she does this - I presume she's doing it because he IS free that weekend and not any other...

Ladies, can we please pray here?

Harvest sermon nearly finished. Got another sermon to write, and to pull together the feedback for my assessed sermon by 7 April, so getting there...

CaptainDippy · 29/03/2008 10:59

Oh SS - I am sure lots and lots of us on here can sympathise with "outlaw" crisis' - I know I can - think Mary's idea of "bending the truth" a little might be worth it!!? Ridiculous, selfish woman!! Glad things are looking positive job-wise thoguh - glad you are enjoying yourself at the hospital - I would love to be a midwife, but I'm rubbish at science and wouldn't be able to cope with administering canulars

Hi Mary - thank you for drawing our attention to that frightening situation - prying protecton over them. xx

Must clean bathroom .....

OP posts:
MaryBS · 29/03/2008 11:21

Its not bending the truth if you actually DO go away, I couldn't possibly encourage fibbing

CaptainDippy · 29/03/2008 11:30

Oooooh! Yey - DO go away, SS, GO ON ......

OP posts:
Swaliswan · 29/03/2008 11:58

I'm not prepared to lie to my MIL (not even a little bit). But, I don't really feel able to turn around and say, even more openly than I already have, that it's not a good weekend for her to come over. DH is going to be tired and I'll want to try and let him have a rest but I'll be exhausted as well because DH won't have been around to give me a break at all or do any little jobs. I will also have to get up earlier as I'll be dropping DD off at nursery and I have to have her tea ready for my mum or the childminder to feed her.

Going away sounds like an interesting option....DH will never gor for it though as he won't want to upset his mum. As per usual, he'll be trying to please everyone else except for me.

Praise the Lord, my mum turned up just as DD was throwing up on me (again) so I actually had someone there to help me. Then, my mum took me to Tesco in the car to get shopping (too much to carry) which is such a blessing. DH goes away next weekend for a while so I'm pleased that I've managed to get a lot of heavy shopping in. I've got a selection of vegetables for making vege mash for DD as she doesn't seem able to keep much else down atm. DD's Godmother phoned earlier and asked why MIL couldn't come down earlier to help me out whilst DH was away. I think that she got the idea when I burst out laughing that this was never going to happen. MIL makes me laugh, she never bothers with DH much except for when it suits her or she can get some attention. I guess it serves me right that she is coming down that weekend as we haven't gone up to see her (in Derby) since just before Christmas. It's not that easy going 160 miles to see her with a baby who likes to eat three meals, sleep at certain times and get up early.

amber32002 · 29/03/2008 19:17

Mary, thanks for highlighting that situation - have prayed and left a message on there.

SS, as if you need that hassle to add to everything else, eh? Thank goodness your mum has been a help.

We've had people to look at the house today - it's now on the market. Very stressful, and I'm exhausted from all that cleaning and scrubbing and tidying and mowing, though at least the rest of the family were here to help/hinder (depending on which one of them it was...).

Prayers for all.

Hi Ladies.

I'm sorry to go on but I'm starting to feel really desperate. DD has full on D&V and I don't feel like I'm coping very well. I've had about two hours sleep and I'm not sure that I'm going to get any more tonight. I'm about to run out of clean bedding for her as she keeps being sick on her fresh stuff and I could do with a couple of hours sleep without her in the bed next to me. I have no idea when DH is coming home and he will be tired when he does get here. Plus I'm going to have to phone the childminder and tell her about the D&V so I'll have to take time off of work. DD has been ill for over two weeks now and I could do with a break from looking after a sick baby now. I'm also concerned that I'm going to start being poorly soon as my tummy is sounding strange

mufti · 30/03/2008 08:40

poor dd SS AND poor you,i wish i was nearer, could at least lend you bedding, will pray for an end to the illness and strength for you

CaptainDippy · 30/03/2008 08:53

{{{{{{SS}}}}}} Wish I could help. Is there no one you could call? Where's DH? Praying she recovers asap. You poor thing. Whereabouts are you?

Lots of sickness andhouse moving going on here atm - praying for all. xx

Please, please pray for DH - he felt ill yesterday morning and then after swimming in the afternoon got a horrendous migrane, which has continued all night - he is boiling hot and feeling sooooo ill He is supposed to be going away on a course with work at 3.30pm today and doesn't want to miss it. Oh dear!

Clock change has really thrown me - need to go and get ready so I can take the girls to church .........

Morning Mary

I think I said I was getting ready for church .....

MaryBS · 30/03/2008 09:15

Hi CD {waves}

I'm off to chapel today...

CaptainCaveman · 30/03/2008 16:24

Hi everyone - praying for your dd SS, and for your dh CD, praying they both make a swift recovery.

Ds been a naught chap in church today, just generally misbehaving and shouting through communion. I'm just tired out from so many early mornings that I have no patience left to deal with a boisterous 3 yr old!

PRAISE GOD - my friend who is 18weeks pg was told about 6 weeks ago to expect to lose her baby as there was some problem with excess fluid behind the babys neck. 6 weeks on and the amnio is all clear, just got some more developmental tests to have. Thank you Lord for giving hope to them when all seemed lost. I pray that good news continues throughout her pregnancy.

DutchOma · 30/03/2008 18:42

Amen to that CC.
Beautiful weather here today and all little things for Podglet ready to wrap.
Prayers for SS little daughter that the sickness may soon leave her and give some much needed rest to Swaliswan.

Swaliswan · 30/03/2008 19:24

Thank-you for all of your prayers, Ladies. DD did go back to sleep this morning and has spent much of the day taking naps interspersed with BFing. She took a small amount of baby rice this evening but vomitted it all back up and she has horrendous diarrhoea She has fallen asleep before her bedtime milk this evening but I don't think that it really matters today. DH got home about 4pm and is just as tired as me. I think that I might take DD to see the GP tomorrow as she has been ill for 3 weeks now and keeps on getting D&V. I don't know what to do for the or how to make her better.

CaptainDippy · 30/03/2008 19:25

If anyone's around, please please please pray - DD1 has been nightmareish all day and is now refusing to go to bed and just screaming and screaming and screaming. She is keeping the other two awake and I am getting more and more and more

Swaliswan · 30/03/2008 19:33

Sorry, I don't know what to do for the best
