Is anyone else a pantheist or jedi?

I no longer believe in a personal god who judges us, I haven't for a long time but I believe in energy, science how there's complex rules for everything , like the force. I feel like atheism doesn't quite fit my belief system I struggle to believe how all these systems were designed purely by chance. I had not really found a term that fits until I heard of pantheism.
Are any mners pantheists? I feel like jedi is an easy way to explain haha!!

I’m probably more a panentheist, I mainly am drawn to what we now call Neoplatonism. I believe that the universe is an emanation of the source/the All.

There is a Unitarian Universalist church near us and we got chatting with a couple we met in their grounds . That may fit you? They believe that everyone must find their own spiritual path so if you are an atheist that is actually acceptable. They believe in individual freedom of belief. Isaac Newton and Charles Dickens were Unitarians to name a couple !

You do realise that George Lucas made the Jedi up? You might as well believe in Hogwarts or Middle Earth?

I've just read about Neoplatonism , the Greeks were really forward thinkers it's a shame the Abrahamic religions took over. It can be really hard to define my beliefs , I definitely believe the One or the source but it's not a personal thinking god who makes judgment like matter. Its like a machine that just is and creates the rules not really thinking. Like a computer programme? I believe everything is right here no afterlife, after we die we join back into the one (the universe). I don't believe the one cares about good or evil deeds that is for humans to decide but I struggle to think the complex rules and systems was created by pure chance like traditional atheism.

yes the abrahamic traditions gained prominence largely because of historical accident and were shaped over time to
suit political needs. Although they contain important truths these are hidden within a questionable structure.

However, there’s always been a more spiritual alternative running in the background in the West, what academics now call Western Esotericism. One of the best books I know of is this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Esoteric-Traditions-Historical-Introduction/dp/0195320999/ref=asc_df_0195320999/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310812942933&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17945386831463155259&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007082&hvtargid=pla-441732101435&psc=1&th=1&psc=1

You might also want to look into perennialism (eg Huxleys perennial philosophy”

The Kybalion (written by the 3 initiates) is also a good place to start to get general concepts, although take its lineage with a pinch of salt but it’s a good place to start it’s certainly not an end and keep going you’ll prob increasingly dislike it lol. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kybalion-Three-Initiates-Original-Journal/dp/B09JVD1HC1/ref=asc_df_B09JVD1HC1/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=570515163812&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10207759468322804851&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007082&hvtargid=pla-1652215684727&psc=1&th=1&psc=1

not my thing by neodruidism, Wicca etc might also take your fancy.

it’s about exploring and finding the right path for you. You’re right, the alternatives have been buried, occulted (hence the occult - which is not the evil thing it’s often presented as).

Have you read the alchemist https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18144590-the-alchemist it’s a good introduction to the idea of the anima mundi - the world soul?

i love the feeling of everything being divine, the idea that both dark and light are equally important- it helps make sense of life and creates balance.

Take every opportunity to develop a your spiritual connection to everything else.

And yes I agree with being reabsorbed back into the one on death (although I also believe that your energy/soul can be inicarnated)

You do realise that God and the bible are made up too 🤷‍♀️

'God is Not Great' by Christopher Hitchens is a fascinating read about organised religion.

Well it’s an interesting thought that’s worth exploring. What do you mean by “made up”?
