Hi
I am sensitive in a meduimish way. Have been called upon to do or act the point where i'm not allowed to sleep unless i do as i am requested. This happened last year where i was dragged of on a Friday night when i wanted to go to the pub. It can be annoying, and sometimes scary, depending on the results.

DH has a rugby playing friend who is psychic. I have never met him and one day the conversation turned to me. This man described me and additionally told my husband. She is also psychic but I am not sure if she knows it yet.

Previously DH has been dubious about these kinds of things but I come out with things 'out of the blue' sometimes and I think it surprises him too. At the time, I dare not think to seriously about what it may be for being delusional.

Since then, I have had some amazing strings of 'occurrences' which I can't really put down to 'coincidence'.

I have been told I am psychic by a couple of people aswell .... I have had experiences, for example I knew that my uncle had died before my mum told me because I dreamt it the night before. He had been ill but the day before we had been told he was getting better.
My brother went to a medium once and this person told my brother quite amazing details of himself and our family. My brother asked about each of us in turn and when he came to me the medium said, "Don't worry about your youngest sister, she will be fine, she is psychic but doesn't know it yet."
My grandmother was a medium and so was her brother .... so it may run in the family I guess.
I am absolutely fascinated by mediums and psychics but don't go to see them as I was once conned out of 40 odd quid by a mad woman who said I would get married one day but I wasn't ready yet (I had just celebrated my 2nd wedding anniversary!) and that I would have children one day but not yet (DS was 8 months old!)

Pipkin, you may not see this but do you have some details you can forward? My family are in Norwich so I could be interested.

Many thanks

Snugs · 12/02/2005 00:13

Libb - try contacting pipkin via CAT (contact another talker)

You may be on a thing that it runs in families. I have a great aunt who is deadly with a pack of ordinary playing cards.

She has come out with v. specific details of dh's family though they have never met and she lives on the other side of the Atlantic.

I think one day I will explore that side of me more - to see how much is there.

spinel · 04/03/2005 15:46

hope you dont mind me asking but do you all know the difference between a psychic and a medium?

Papillon · 04/03/2005 17:11

Is this class

a medium channels a spirit entity. The entity uses the body to speak through.
psychic picks up on life, vibrations and subterrean sensations and is broader to define. Women are instinctual which is perceived as often being of a psychic nature.

does that get the glass ball rolling!

Snugs · 04/03/2005 17:14

Paps - I tried to keep her away, honest I did

It's the teacher in her, she just can't help it.

Papillon · 04/03/2005 17:26

ah-ha I have been wondering who the daughter is! And I thought of Snugs then I thought no, and then who should turn up

so you will know have to of course tell us about the naming ceremony. I know the American Indians have one...

Papillon · 04/03/2005 17:36

great that you are here btw spinel I consider Snugs to be a very wise women so having you here would be an honour.

MistressMary · 04/03/2005 17:40

you just clicked the the psychic thread.

i believe i have something not sure what though?
just think things and it occurs.

Snugs · 04/03/2005 17:46

Paps - Ha, I told her I wasn't going to answer that one unless someone asked! After all, she was there so doesn't need to read about it

For both of my boys (and 2 nieces previously) we had Namings. Basically each time, we had a little party for family and friends, one of whom is a Minister of the Spiritualist Church. We chose sponsors (like Godparents) and the minister did a lovely little reading before telling everyone the baby's name. She also whispered a name, given by spirit, in the baby's ear. Then each Sponsor, and all the kids present, gave the baby a single flower as a gift.

Very simple but very sweet and moving. Nice food, a bit of drink for the adults and a good time was had by all.

PS - spinel, thanks for the use of your garden

Snugs · 04/03/2005 17:47

re the wise woman comment. Thank you, although not sure it is a compliment I deserve.

spinel · 04/03/2005 20:56

But you didn't know that this thread was 11 years old?

MidnightVelvettheSixth · 23/07/2016 18:01

Haha I just did a double take when someone said to CAT Grin

headinhands · 24/07/2016 18:24

I'm not 'psychic' in that I don't believe in such a thing but I'm good at cold reading and have read tarot for friends making it clear before hand that I'll give them a 'reading' that's based on what I know about people their age and psychology in general.

specialsubject · 25/07/2016 19:11

I e you are as psychic as all the others, but you are just honest about how it is done.
