Jewish festivals

I'm on a course with the CofE and we're studying psalms at the moment. One of our assignments is to look at Jewish festivals and their way of life. Tbh I don't know anyone Jewish so I had to look it up on the internet and am amazed at all the different festivals.
Do any Jewish mums follow all the festivals?

The more religious you are the more festivals you tend to participate in. We call it 'observe', eg you observe the Sabbath. Oddly enough, it doesn't mean 'to watch' in this context. The less religious (observant) tend to observe only the more 'festive' festivals. We always do Rosh Hashannah (Jewish New Year - a religious festival), Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement, a fast), Hannukah and Passover as a minimum. When I was a child we observed far more of the festivals, and now that I have children I find I'm doing more for more festivals, even though I may not do the whole thing.
