Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

I absolutely agree BlankTimes often churches are built on the most sacread of places, telluric lines, magnetic flux areas, power points, and built to eraticate and erase what was before. Like the Pillar of the Boatmen at Notre dam, we only have to scratch the surface to realise the layers that have been before.
A warm welcome Witchesbelazy8 great to have you with us. I'm not sure you will find that book or website - a pagan path or spiritual jurney is just that- a journey, and as you embark on your adventures many of us lifetime adventurers are still refining our direction, sharpening our compass.
There are many inroads - depends on your interests- I would start there. What piques your curiosity? Tarot? Crystals? Herbalism? There are so many subjects. I think someone mentioned the books by Titania Hardie recently as being good all round introductions- some of the ones with velvet covers- easy to read and well illustrated- may make a good start.

The fairy garden that the children have made is absolutely lovely, thanks so much for the photos. I'm really taken with the postbox, first one I've seen. I do hope the childrens' hard work is not removed.

One of my faerie doors would not be welcome there, it has the ) O ( symbol on it, with a pentagram above that!

Having a google around, fairy doors seem contentious in several locations, these are only a few examples, but the objections to these seem to be unwitting damage to trees as opposed to fae energy.

It's giving me a few ideas for things to do in my own garden Halloween Grin

@speakout the fairy garden that the children have made is beautiful. Well done to them!

As I said upthread, we have a fairy garden here at home, it's a proper little village that we made as a family. When we move the garden will come with us but take a new form and be extended. It will be located at the bottom of a tree that my mother planted as a small child.

On another fairy note, last year when I was doing my training I bought some fairy doors for the children in my class to put up in their playground. The usual class teacher dismissed my idea at first, then when I was at uni one day she stole my fairy doors, decorate and put them out with the kids. To add insult to injury she refused to let me photograph them. I am most miffed, but figure the universe will figure that one out.

Thank you I’m going to have a read through with a coffee ☺️

Your fairy garden sounds magical. And something minitoto will remember for life.
I guess some of the church members must believe in the fae if they have so much fear.
A while ago my niece's daughter was given a fairy door for a birthday by a friend.
My sister tore it off the wall and snapped it in two. She called it a "gateway for the demonic" very sad.

I have a hawthorn wand on my dressing table / alter. I have only used it at Samhain.
I have a fluorite wand that was a special gift from my mum. It hurts to write this.
I am finding some peace with my Zen reading and talks.
I feel autumn in the air, too.
I have been feeling super conscious of things of late, like, more than usual. Like, the passing of time, the patterns of life, the sameness of humans, and so on.

VioletCharlotte · 05/08/2021 18:23

I love the fairy garden Speakout It's so nice that children still believe in fairies in this digital age! A fairy garden has appeared in the woods not far from where I live, I'll take a photo next time
*
Toto* your fairy garden sounds really lovely. My little nephew and niece have one in their garden too. I like the idea of putting it near the tree.

Spiritwriter I'm glad to hear you're finding some peace. I agree Autumn is in the air, I noticed some almost ripe blackberries today. I'm looking forward to blackberry and apple crumble!

I've got a day off tomorrow and I'm going to IKEA to stock up on candles and glass jars. I've not been for over a year so I'm very excited! I pass a sunflower field on the way that is open to walk around, take photos and pick flowers to take home (for a small fee of course!) If it's not raining I'm hoping to stop off.

speakout · 06/08/2021 09:42

VioletCharlotte I would love to see photos of the fairy garden- do please post.

Spiritwriter I feel that too in walking a magical path, I feel and see everthing so much more deeply. I need to wear shield and protection when I am out these days.
People particularly seem so readable to me- I can tell if someone suffers hayfever, or troubled with anxiety, I can sniff out lies immediately, and the ability is growing with my age- particularly since I embraced the crone. Almost as if people are made of glass or transparent, I can see deeply into most people I meet.
I have orderd myself a pair of solar lanterns for my garden, I can;t wait to see them, I thought they had a good witchy feel, perfect for Autumn and Samhain.

Good morning, all! Well, the heavens opened yesterday, and it hasn't stopped! Definitely a flavour of Autumn in the air.

Fascinating to read of everyone's Goddess-based practices lately. This is what I've been doing for years, but lately have felt something lacking, and have rediscovered a reverence for the energy of Cernunnos. I was always very wary of this energy as the patriarchy can be a very dangerous path to follow. I'm afraid to say, I mostly shunned masculine energy for the most part, and my practice was very 'yin' and receptive. Using the ideas and symbolism of Cernunnos has given me a renewed fire in my belly and everything feels more balanced - typical Libra! I think what has fuelled this is noticing more and more people abusing nature and animals - I have seen some heartbreaking things in the past few weeks, and felt almost powerless. There is much power within the Goddess, but I felt she needed a masculine ally (I find more people take notice of this energy).

Well, there will be no laundry outside today, which is a shame as the wind is so warm yet renewing, but I shall be indoors, witching away!

Blessingsx

I understand your need to work with male energy, for me though the pendulum has swung too far and in need or rebalance- which is why I work almost exclusively with goddess energy.
In doing so I have discovered that female energy is not all about yielding, receiving but about fierceness, strength, roaring at the wind and stamping feet in the earth so hard that mountains shake. That is the female energy I enjoy working with!

AnotherCrazyBirdLady · 06/08/2021 15:45

@speakout, thank you for understanding! It still seems very new to me, and I may go back to my Goddess-centred practice, but for now, the yang energy is really resonating with me.

Magic is neither black nor white. Those terms have racial connotations for them which means they should be avoided really. Baneful magic does happen.

I can't help with what you are searching for. But it the idea that magic practised by white cultures is good and those by black is bad is a very toxic notion. And perhaps should no longer have a home in magical practise.

Hi, I don't think you will find the answers you are looking for here.
The idea of white and black magic is not a universally accepted system, and no one here will be able to tell you what your ex has been doing- if anything. There are any number of reasons he may have put pen to paper.
Are you still in touch with him? If you are then ask him.

Those lanterns are magnificent! I went for a super walk today and sat on the bench of an old chap who was a friend of my fil. My fil once made him a special set of keys so he could break into some cabinets in a library. the reason, they had incorrectly classified the birds on display and not spelled their Latin names correctly. He had asked them to change but they wouldn't, so he broke in and cracked on! Grin

It's a peaceful spot and I get there after an hours walking, always stop and have a cup of coffee from my flask. There is a tree nearby and I always pop a stone under the tree, then I continue my walk which is a long stretch on a pebbly beach. I sit pick up a pebble then next time I do the walk pop it under the tree. I love the circular ritual of it, and seeing my pile of pebbles grow.

LumpySpacedPrincess I love the library story- breaking in to set things right. Perfect.
Such a good idea about the pebbles- I may try that. Such a mindful thing to do.

@LumpySpacedPrincess your breaking into the library story has bought a big smile to my face.

LumpySpacedPrincess what a lovely ritual!

Also, all the talk of fairy gardens made me want to share these photos my friend sent.

Oh I love the idea of using cups and saucers for the fairies. How beautiful.

I love those photographs- there is something so magical about miniature things. I am always hypnotised by window displays in dolls house shops, little scenes laid out with so many intricate things. Minute enchantment.
Dark moon today sisters, perfect for any deep diving, divination or delving into the juicy depths.
I plan some tarot later today and plan to sort through my pesonal stuff, clear out some clothes, tidy my cosmetics and skin care stuff, rearrange my altar.
It always feels good to bring a little order!
I also need to buy some candles, wax, salt etc, and will probably go out early to do that- soon after the shops open,
Saturday gets so busy and I am not a fan of crowds. So if I can get my shopping done and home by 10am that will be perfect.
Enjoy the dark moon energy everyone!

Delphinium those photos are lovely, thank you for sharing. Like Speakout I've always loved miniature things, I used to play with a dolls house for hours as a child.

Interesting discussion about male/ female energy. Like Speakout I prefer to work with feminine energy. This week, I've been really feeling the kick-ass warrior energy, love it! I've been working a lot with sunflowers energy this week, which is all about confidence and shining light into the world. Do any of you work with flower essences? Not something I've used before, but, as is the way with these things, I keep getting 'nudged', so I'm starting to explore 😊

Here's some sunflowers energy to make you smile on a rainy Saturday. This is from my trip to a sunflower field yesterday.

VioletCharlotte · 07/08/2021 11:24

I don't know why I can't share photos! Will send you sunflower energy! 🌻
