Sunday school/junior church/creche in the current climate

Hello, hope you don't mind me popping my head in here and asking a question?

How are you managing any/all of the above in your churches at present? I usually help out (though not with the planning) but due to my own health issues and also working with a vulnerable group I've had to step back.

We've been told that creche/junior church would count as a bubble - but conflictingly schools have told parents that the dc should not socialise outside their school bubble so 🤷‍♀️

At the moment we've been lucky to have the services outside, but they're pretty much geared to the adults and although some of the talks are pitched at a less in depth level there's not a lot going on for the dc. This is also broadcast via YouTube so many members are staying home and doing church that way.

We're restricted on numbers inside obviously so was wondering about having something online instead/as well? Though probs wouldn't work for the creche/preschool age ones so not sure what we could do for them? Any ideas or links to bible stories that are entertainingly done or stuff like that please? Feels like we should be doing more than bunging on a Veggie Tales dvd week after week but so far that's my only thought...

Thanks in advance for any ideas/thoughts/whatevers Smile

I've seen one or two stories re-told by one of the ministers in our District, who has two fairly young dc of her own, and they act them out, as she tells the stories (will often have their soft toys as 'the crowd' and so forth.)
I've seen children's bible stories read, as you would read any story to children.
Same with singing - and the children join in at home.

This will depend a lot on the geographical location of those attending, but I've heard of packs being delivered to children in their homes

If you are using zoom (rather than You Tube) , I'd have thought (if you tell parents in advance) most would have access to paper and some sort of colours, so you could tell a story, then they could draw something from it and share, perhaps ?
