Good morning,

Grey skies here, my met office app has just given a thunderstorm warning- I hope there is one, I love the energy of them. Lots to get done today, storm energy would help I think.

Wonderful about your holiday speakout- very exciting! Yes, the taboo of washing or any other jobs on a Sunday. Religion has such an influence on our society doesn’t it. It’s the misogyny of it that grinds on me the most. I saw this image about the evolution of religion yesterday- thought it was about right! An antithesis soon popped up in the form of these reflections on the great goddess!

Meadowlight I love your water lily photo and reflections on rootedness. Beautiful and a great reminder for when all seems adrift, thank you. I love the way you describe the 5 of cups message- very empowering I think. An approach to learn from.

Hope everyone has a good day x

My tarot pick for the day was Justice- a card I can’t easily connect with and it’s concepts allude me somehow.

I guess whilst I understand the idea of karma and justice; the natural order of things and reaping what we sow I struggle to see an energy to take from it- something to work with.

I’d be interested to hear others thoughts on the justice card- what energy do you take from it or how do you put its message into practice in your life?

Meadowlight · 16/06/2019 12:50

Justice is a difficult card to work with for me too YashmisCrone - it feels almost oppressive, a bit ‘hierophant’ like, somehow it feels ‘institutionalised’. The pursuit of perceived ‘justice’ can take over people’s lives so they forget to just be present. There’s a thin line between wanting a fair outcome and becoming dogmatic or blind to what really matters.

So I think of the card as a reminder of my own moral integrity, as a signal to speak truth to power. It’s a chance to hold a mirror up to the injustices in society, the environment, our modes of relating to one another. And maybe encourages us to see how we can hold ourselves apart from that, if necessary and enact another way in our relationships, our treatment of the planet, our work and so on. But it can also encourage us to be open to ‘letting it go’ and putting faith in spirit or nature.

But i don’t know if that resonates with others or if it’s aligned with the ‘official’ interpretation!

YashmisCrone · 16/06/2019 15:19

Really interesting Meadowlight

What you say about it feeling almost oppressive and institutional really resonates- I think that’s the issue I have with the card (also feel similarly about the hierophant!) it’s all a bit structured and rigid for me.

I like your ideas about moral integrity and holding a mirror to injustice- food for thought there..

Thank you 🙏

Hello!

Anyone have any recommendations for a really good herbalism book/reference book?

VioletCharlotte · 16/06/2019 19:23

Yashmis I feel you have drawn the Justice card as maybe you need a reminder that what goes around, comes around sooner or later. I would say this is about a situation you've been struggling with for a while and maybe you're feeling a bit frustrated? Just let nature take its course and let the situation play out. All you need to do is keep doing what you're doing, stay true to what you believe and things will work out.
I also have an awareness of a strong male figure in spirit who walks by your side and is watching over you ❤️

Speakout exciting news about your holiday! I'm so pleased for you, you'll have a wonderful time with your DD. I went to Kos years ago when I was 18 and remember it being lovely. There's some really spiritual places you can visit, as well as beautiful beaches.

Meadowlight sorry yesterday was tough, I hope today has been a bit gentler for you. I'm glad this thread helped, I always come here when I'm feeling a bit low, the energy is so soothing and nurturing isn't it? I love the water lilly photo.

This weekend's been a bit of a washout weather-wise, I'm hoping the cloud will shift as well I'd like to see the full moon tonight. I'm hoping her energy will give me a boost, I've been feeling rather sluggish all weekend.

Elphame · 16/06/2019 19:29

SolsticeBabyMaybe If you want to use one for herbal treatments you need a really good and up to date one. Avoid the ones aimed at the neo- pagan market. Fine for magical use but not if you intend to take the herbs or even apply them to your skin.

You want one written by someone with proper herbal medical training. I am frequently shocked at how bad the neo pagan books can be when it comes to herbal toxicity.

SalemSpellman · 16/06/2019 20:03

I've had a very busy weekend, so I'm taking some time out in my shed. I've put on a "refreshing"incense stick -mint, sage and clove. I'm grouping together my thoughts for the week as I have a couple of job interviews coming up.

What are you everyone's plans for the week?

YashmisCrone · 16/06/2019 20:21

Thank you Violet for your wonderful insight- that makes sense. Also for sharing your sense of the strong male figure beside me who I believe to be my lovely dad 💚 A real gift you’ve given me today 🙏 Sending uplifting energy your way 💫

SolsticeBabyMaybe Hello! Sound advice from Elphame, I use ‘The Green Pharmacy’ by James A Duke which is probably out of date by now.. I would always seek advice before using herbs medicinally.

Good luck with those interviews Salem we’re all here to support you. I’ll hold a vision of what’s right for you coming your way. That incense sounds uplifting. Glad you’re enjoying your shed Smile

SalemSpellman · 16/06/2019 20:23

Thank you @YashmisCrone 🙏

YashmisCrone · 16/06/2019 20:24

Violet I saw both of these today and was reminded of your beautiful words about the power of female community 🙏

Yashmis thank you for the confirmation, I felt that it was your Dad, but didn't feel confident enough to say so. I really need to work on having more belief in myself. He has a wonderful, strong but gentle energy ❤️

Good luck with those interviews Salem. Will be sending positivity your way 💫💕

VioletCharlotte · 16/06/2019 20:32

Yashmis love those images 💕

On a similar theme, someone shared this song with me today, I thought I'd share it here as some of you may like it too 😊

@VioletCharlotte please thank you 🙏 I am also telling you to believe in your gift. The reading you did for me was spot on. I'll tell the others what my husband said "are you sure you haven't been putting outing information on the internet? This lady seems to know a lot about you!"

YashmisCrone · 16/06/2019 21:00

Praise indeed Salem Grin here here!

That song is beautiful. Thank you 🙏

VioletCharlotte · 16/06/2019 21:08

Thank you Yashmis that means a lot ❤️
I've sent you a pm xx

VioletCharlotte · 16/06/2019 21:14

Thank you so much Salem. I'm working so hard at my tarot and mediumship. A medium helped me when I was at the lowest point I've ever been. I can honestly say she changed my life and I want to be able to try and help others in the same way she helped me 🙏💕

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 16/06/2019 21:47

Evening all

I’ve just tiptoed in quietly to sit by the Aga and read / listen.

I can’t talk too loudly as I’ll wake the sleeping new familiars that are curled up against me. 😊

TooManyPaws · 16/06/2019 21:55

I don't know if anyone knows this song but I think it speaks to a lot of what we have internalised:

I was introduced to it by a Dutch witch in a women's circle. Julie Felix came out of the US folk protest scene the same time as Joan Baez; she now lives in England and is involved with Goddess spirituality, at the Glastonbury Goddess Conference etc.

YashmisCrone · 16/06/2019 22:27

Oh my goodness Violet what a gift you have and have given me. I am deeply moved and have responded to your message 💖

Lovely to see you Gee we’ll keep the noise to a gentle chatter- wouldn’t want to disturb the peace of the familiars Smile

Thank you for the song share Paws, I’ll have a listen. I love how much there always is to learn here in our lovely community Smile

YashmisCrone · 16/06/2019 23:15

Another beautiful song Paws
Very powerful 🙏

Not read all the thread yet but Hi and welcome to SolsticeBabyMaybe grab a beanbag and some tea.

Agree with Elphame's wise words.

This is absolutely spot on for all sorts of herbal remedies you can make at home in your own kitchen.

The full moon is shrouded in mists here tonight, veiled in mystery.

YashmisCrone · 17/06/2019 08:51

Started the day with some wild strawberries from the garden in honour of the strawberry full moon Smile
