Past life regression.

Hi MNers

I was watching a programme earlier and one of the presenters tried last life regression. It was fascinating and I wondered if anyone had ever tried it, and if so what was your experience?

I’d love to give it a go myself.

I have and it was an interesting, thought provoking and rather painful process (not physically!). Sadly I was no one famous and it was a miserable life I led.

Thanks for sharing, Elphame. I don’t expect I’ll be anyone famous at all. I think I’m more looking for reassurance that when we die it’s not the end and we get a second chance. Things that have happened in my life in recent years have made me think about life after death a lot more. Do you believe it really was a past life you experienced or something else?

I honestly don't know. I do a lot of journeying and trancework as a matter of course but this felt very different.

I was a subsistence farmers wife, living in a croft on very poor quality moorland. It was a hardworking, loveless marriage of convenience. I had several children, only one, a daughter, survived. I died as wretched as I'd lived from pneumonia (at that point I was brought out of regression so I didn't have to go through the point of death).

It was the sheer awfulness of the life that made it ring true for me.

Thanks Elphame. That sounds really interesting, if also distressing.

That does sound distressing, Elphame.
May I ask, did you get information from it, eg that you were with the same people /group of souls in this life? Or if you have a specific purpose in this life / needing to work something through with X whose you'd previously known? That sort of thing.

Elphame · 19/11/2018 11:32

I think the main thing I got from it was to count my blessings and stop taking my very comfortable life this time round so much for granted.

I had no sense that the people I was with play any part in this life. In fact the only individual who appeared with any substance was my one living daughter who stayed with me because she had no other options. It really was an existence of blighted hopes, failed dreams and unrelenting struggle.

(at that point I was brought out of regression so I didn't have to go through the point of death)

Now this is the thing that appeals to me most. I would like to experience death. I would ask not to be brought out of it at that point.

I would like to compare it to my own awakening.

Thanks Elphame

I was suffocating as I couldn't breathe. Not a nice way to go.

Was it like a bad dream? When you woke up from it, how did you feel?

Elphame · 20/11/2018 11:09

No not really. I do a lot of journeywork anyway and this was just a rather deeper trance state than I would normally use. It felt very real and yes I was very glad to be brought out when I was. The experience has stayed with me whilst a dream would have faded away by now.

noego · 20/11/2018 12:32

@Elphame

Thanks for answering.

Was there a separation from the human form? Was the trance like state observed from other than the body mind. I.e. the consciousness?
Do you think the experience has stayed with you because it was some form of reality?

To me the waking state and the sleeping state are all the same. It's all just a dream and all is observed by consciousness. The egoic identity does not exist. However the mind can be practical and have memory, intelligence, intellectuality, logic and rationale. The senses still function and report back to the brain. Feelings are still felt but observed and left to pass by. So I am intrigued to know if the experience was similar.

Sorry for all the questions. If it causes distress to re-visit please ignore me.

Sorry for being slow - I've been thinking about how to answer this.

I can and do "astral project" and one of the side effects is that physically my body gets very very cold. So cold that it has called me back and it can take quite a while for me to warm up again.

This didn't happen during my regression so my consciousness didn't actually separate.

I was unaware of being in a trance - it was all very real whilst it was happening and I was actively involved - not like watching myself from outside or on a screen

noego · 22/11/2018 13:23

@Elphame

Thanks for replying.

So not a trance, not an OBE, so would you say it was like a lucid dream? As you say you were actively involved,
From what you describe, it seems like a body mind experience. Do you think something was aware, other than consciousness?

What I am trying to understand is that whatever is happening to our body mind, whether in this realm, previous realms or other realms to come, There is always something that is aware of that.

IME I can function as a human body mind but that awareness is always there observing all.

So as an example of that if I hit my thumb with a hammer in a dream I feel the pain. If I hit my thumb with a hammer in the waking state I feel the pain, so for me it is one and all the same. As a dream. And it is just happening and is observable, but the observer is separate from all of that. The observer is immutable, it is a constant where as body mind fluctuates and indeed is impermanent. I'm calling it observer for the purpose of this conversation. What it is, is unknown.

So, as you have visited a previous life, I was trying to understand if the observer was still evident through your experience. Which would explain my understanding and experience of this unknown has always been there, is there now and will be there in the future and will be there in future realms. That this unknown is indeed the immutable truth of who we are and not the body mind, which ever body mind experience we have and when we have it.

I've had re occurring dreams of the same house. Which is like a brick/mid evil times look. I have memories of this hous and the rooms. I can draw them out and the weird part is I remember this room with like handcuffs on the walls and floor. Also I don't watch movies like that or have ever seen in real life anything like it, I just remember it. Anyway I googled these handcuffs and found it was common in mid evil times!! Also the living room and rooms I remember look exactly like on google. Very very weird.
