Can you get your child baptised Catholic if you're CofE?

My husband and I were both christened CofE. I went to a Catholic school and my Dad was Catholic - I attend Catholic church more than CofE (to be totally honest we normally only make it for Christmas and Easter). We want to get our daughter baptised Catholic, but neither of us our technically Catholic....
Would it be necessary to do an official conversion to Catholicism course before we could get our daughter baptised? I'm happy to do that but just wondered if anyone had any idea of the likely policy on this before I ask the priest? Thanks so much

It's not essential, you will need a Catholic sponsor (god parent). I'd think the priest would want you to be on the way to conversation.

It is usual to baptise before six months old so that may affect things. I'm C of E so I can't advise on what RC policy is but very interested to find out.

You or your husband would need to be a Catholic before your daughter was baptised as you make promises to bring your child up in the faith and you can't do that if you aren't of the same faith yourself. Hope this helps

Even though the Catholic Church undoubtedly has policies about these kind of issues a degree of leeway to those policies is allowed to the bishop. Your best option is to ask the priest at the church you attend what course of action to take.

Why do you want to have your daughter baptised into the RCC?

Is this a school thing? Catholicism can be a bit hardcore even if you're born into it. Going twice a year to church isn't enough to get a feel of just how hardcore, especially if you're trying to get into an oversubscribed school where all the children will have at least one Catholic parent. I was born Catholic as were my DC. I found Catholic school and church too much and I was born into it and went to Catholic schools all my life. I took my DC out when we moved. The one thing that's putting me off the outstanding high school in my area is that it's Catholic.
