What keeps you going?

Long time lurker but first time poster...
I’m just interested in finding out what keeps people going.

For me life is pretty futile but I’m interested to learn if I’m missing something worthwhile. I’m 27, in a decent career, single, with my own flat but i don’t think I’m ‘living life.’ If I’m not getting anything out of it (life), why should I persevere?

So you are being held against your will?

If you are not allowed to leave your house, and you are able to, and wish to, then someone is controlling you against your will. This is a crime.

I’m an atheist. Was a full on evangelical Christian for a couple of decades.

I love my family and job. I have 3 special needs kids and a full time job in early years. I love loving and nurturing children, I feel I’m shaping the future. I love the strong ethic of empathy that we have in our setting. I love how all the children thrive regardless of ability.
