Nicene Creed

Hi folks

I have always had Christian beliefs and 'felt' Christian, but coming from an atheist background I'm still learning the ins and outs of Christianity. DH and I started going to an Episcopal Church a while back and it seems to be the best fit for our family. I've done a bit of research on Episcopalianism but I'm not sure I fully understand the Nicene Creed. 'I believe in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church' - I didn't think Episcopalians were Catholic? Please help me to understand! Thank you!

It means catholic in the sense of the word meaning not the belief system. The word means including a variety and inclusivity. So the creed is essentially saying I believe in the coming together and unity of Christians as one body despite worshipping in groups or churches .

Just to clarify 'Coming together' spirituality/metaphorically if not physically.
