Lovely to have you back tuo and to hear from lots of others- praying for you all. Thanks for the prayer tuo
Was at doc this morning to discuss various things but prayed in waiting room for all on this thread who need help with their health in one way or another.
Praying thanks for the sunshine here today. X

BlackeyedSusan · 28/11/2016 15:06

got a meeting with the head teacher and class teacher to help the boy. I hope.

Orchidflower1 · 28/11/2016 15:51

Hope meeting goes well bes

Please pray for calmness in my house. Things had been so much better with dh but he has just been v cross and mean again. Ds was sitting with me at the time taking abut school. Please give me strength and calmness. Please help dh to understand my MH needs x

Bloomed · 28/11/2016 20:08

Praying here too. Am waiting on a meeting tonight and another couple in the next few days which are pivotal but also likely to be aggressive. So prayers for protection please!

CocoaX · 28/11/2016 21:13

Thank you for the prayer Tuo, very timely. I hope you are well.

Orchid, prayers for calm and that your DH gains understanding. I am sorry that he is being mean, and I pray he will stop this behaviour and support you.

Bloomed, I pray for your safety and protection but I also advise practical measures if there will be aggression. Do you have someone who can attend with you?

bes as ever, I pray for you as you continue to meet your DC needs.

I can only see this page, but I wanted to add prayers for nickel, for Thomas and his family as requested by Carrie and (will check back, memory failing)

nickelbabe · 28/11/2016 21:17

Thank you for the prayers :)
DH and I went to Rochester cathedral advent carol service. Very strange being in the congregation instead, but it was just lovely. It cheered him up a bit.
During the day we went to a Deanery Day at the neighbouring deanery (where I had been visiting churches and have continued going to a monthly service at one of the churches). It was weird knowing (and also then recognizing) people when it wasn't my own town!
But it also meant I didn't have to spend the whole day introducing myself and explaining my story. :)

CocoaX · 28/11/2016 21:19

And for pklme and her father for a good recovery and for her mother as they come to terms with things.

For Lissette that she enjoys Advent and finds inspiration and joy in her Advent books and her close family and friends here, so as not to feel the silence from her parents too much. For Dutchoma to know her words bring comfort and not feel too lonely on winter nights.

For everyone in need of prayer and for anyone I have forgotten, I pray for you tooFlowers

CocoaX · 28/11/2016 21:20

Xpost as on phone, that service sounds lovely nickel

nickelbabe · 28/11/2016 21:23

Yes, we did Grin

drspouse · 28/11/2016 21:55

Hi all, sorry I have not been on the thread, some things are good, some not!

I still like the new church. DS has been doing so well in Sunday school, he will go on his own (literally pushed me out this week), we've been more regularly this term and I started by leaving him for a short while and worked up. This week I sat in the main bit of the church and after the children came back in he sat with me and sang some of the communion songs for a bit before going over to the toy area. This is a different child to the one at the old church.

DH however still doesn't like it. He's also been very stressed about other stuff and finding it hard to relax so I feel he needs something for himself. We've agreed he will go to evening service at the old church some weeks (I need to do things some other weeks) and I'll sort out the DC. I'd rather do that than wrangle both of them in the mornings at the new church, and the old church is still not friendly with even the less intrusive 2yo.

drspouse · 28/11/2016 21:59

Oh also I feel v positive about Advent / Christmas. DS is in the nativity play at new church. I love that he has church things to look forward to. I would much rather he's excited about that than multiple FC visits etc. I feel reasonably prepared so I can be a bit calmer during Advent.

nickelbabe · 28/11/2016 22:01

That's great that you like the new church :)

itshappenedagain · 28/11/2016 22:05

Hi! Can I join too? Could I be prayed for, the job I'm doing is being advertised as permanent and a soul outlet love it...faith school. I keep praying that god puts me where I am needed.really hoping it is there!

Tuo · 28/11/2016 23:21

Thanks all for the welcome back!

Praying tonight for ...
itshappenedagain - for the job;
BES - for DD's music exam and the meeting re. DS;
nickel - VERY long time no see, but sad to hear that things are so tough;
Orchid - for strength and hope for you, and for understanding from DH;
drspouse - giving thanks for a happier church situation and praying for a longer-term solution that suits the whole family;
Bloomed - for your meetings;
... and for Cocoa and Oma and amber - lovely to 'see' all of you again.

Here is a prayer for today courtesy of the Methodist Church's 'prayer of the day' site:

Teach us, O God, to trust your providence, ordered and sure; to accept your wisdom, unerring and true; and to rejoice in your love unbounded and eternal; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Charles Simeon (1759-1836)

Madhairday · 29/11/2016 08:01

Great to see you Tuo and thanks for posting prayers.

Nickel so glad you enjoyed the church Flowers

Drspouse good to see you and good to hear ds is enjoying it and that you feel settled for Christmas, prayers that dh will feel settled too.

Welcome itshappened and prayers for your job situation.

Praying through and advent blessings to all. Any prayers for dd doing mocks and very very stressed appreciated!

CocoaX · 29/11/2016 09:11

Oh MHD, I am sorry I missed your DD last night when I was posting. I add my prayers now and will do when praying through later. It is a stressful time for her (and you) Flowers

CocoaX · 29/11/2016 09:12

Prayers also for your job and welcome itshappenedagain

BlackeyedSusan · 29/11/2016 17:49

music exam: got there on time. (yay) most of it went well though she thought she had difficulty with one of the scales.

meeting with school: positive. hoping for results.

nickelbabe · 29/11/2016 23:16

Yeay to all the good things.
I will be positive today too.
We had a funeral today - at old church so it was hard to go, but important to say goodbye (old churchgoer/friend - 96 and a dear friend of dh's parents)
It was a good service, really nice. Dh played because he'd already agreed, but I sat in the congregation. Which was hard in itself because the choir was on duty as a gift (all 4 that could make it). Part of me should have been there but the sensible part knew that wasn't possible.

itshappenedagain · 29/11/2016 23:16

MHD prayers for your dd as she sits her mocks, and for you too. I drove my poor mum up the walk when doing any kind of exam.

BlackeyedSusan · 29/11/2016 23:31

how did/are mocks going mhd?

BlackeyedSusan · 29/11/2016 23:32

fourth time lucky with this meeting. plus several emails and a parents evening to get this far.

Tuo · 30/11/2016 02:01

Very late, very tired... Thinking of you all, especially nickel and MHD's DD.

An advent prayer from www.faithandworship.com

To you O Lord we bring our lives
Troubled, broken or at ease
A sacrificial offering
For you to use
Take away our selfishness
And teach us to love as you loved
Take away our sense of pride
And show us the meaning of humility
Take away our blindness
And show us the world through your eyes
Take away our greed
And teach us how to give as you gave
Show us your ways
Teach us your paths
That we might walk with you more closely
Our hand in your hand
Our feet in your footsteps
From the baby in a stable
To eternity, Amen

What would you do if you felt compromised in a decision you made because of fear (of financial impact and mental health implications of the other choice)? I have about a week to change my mind and trigger a process in spite of my fears which could lead to what I have agreed and leave me in debt.

Alternatively I go with compromised position and save my mental and financial resources for securing that position and no more.
