Kaykat, I had a similar experience of being encouraged to apply for promotion when I was not sure, given non-work pressures. I did delay a year, but also the question is whether a higher level will allow you to loose some of the work you are doing to concentrate on the higher grade stuff, which allows you to develop. So can you delegate more and mentor more junior colleagues in your potential new position, rather than it being just more work/responsibility? That hinges on there being staff to then delegate to, of course, rather than just higher grade = more work.

Thank you Oma and Cocoa. I am mostly nervous that I won't be totally capable and my job is very important to me as I'm sure to all of us. If I hadn't had my job the past few years I don't know how I would have survived as not a penny was ever going to be forthcoming from XH. I do supervise staff now but it would be a level up. They will be very pushed for time themselves though. It won't be too different from what I'm doing now but more responsibility and higher expectations of me.

Please pray for me. Ion hospital due to serious nosebleeds. They put stuff in the nose to stop it bleeding. Tomorrow they'll remove pack and see if bleed recurs. Bit lonely as visiting is in one hours time.

Praying for you Singalong I had this many years ago, the blood vessel in my nose was cauterised I think that is the right word, in the end to stop the problem; utterly unpleasant having it packed before that, so my sympathy as well as prayers

Kaykat I hear you about more junior staff being pressed for time too! Praying for clarity for you in this decision- is it an annual promotion round or open ended or a one off?

Praying for you SingaSong glad to see you here. Severe nosebleeds are horrible, it must be really bad if you are still in hospital. I hope you have some visitors soon.

I need to continue the campaign to get safety measures put in place for ds.

Please can you pray for my dd who is stressed about mocks and facing some bullying- and teachers actions last week made it all worse. I'm very angry. Waiting to speak to her head of year.

How was library bes?

last night was fine but ds has now decided he will only eat aldi cheap bread. so there was a bit of a post library stress and a really late bedtime.

this morning, I sat and chatted to a friend for ages, before doing an emergency run to aldi for their bread.

Thank you. Am feeling exhausted and a little sad about life but hopefully I will be able to steer life in the right direction. Hope everyone has had a good day.

Thank you for the prayers- I'm back home, hoping my nose behaves itself. I will be having laser treatment but not sure when - I wish it was sooner, but my nose needs to settle down. I do pray for the group who post here, though it may appear I only come asking for prayer.

Thank you for the blooms orchidflower I hope you have a comfortable night singasong. Tomorrow I'll be discussing finances. Something I tend to avoid but I need to face up to some practicalities.

we were doing ok until the computer crashed. (it has been taken apart and the cpu and the power unit dusted with a paintbrush and hoover)

however, there has been a meltdown which involved a lot of jumping on the floor. man downstairs has been swearing. which will piss off all the bloody neighbours more.

there are still groaning noises going on. so much for an earlier night!

Hopefully you all got some sleep in the end.
