I'll say a prayer for you at Mass this morning Dutchoma. Its hard to sleep when hooked up to something no matter how therapeutic. I hope you are on the mend.

CocoaLeaves · 26/02/2017 09:48

Flowers and prayers for you Oma

Orchidflower1 · 26/02/2017 10:23

Prayers for a speedy recovery oma
Have you got people in rl to help when you are home? 🌸💐🌺

Praying all with anxiety/ panic have a calm day. cocoa has your friend got the chn today?

CocoaLeaves · 26/02/2017 10:40

Thanks Orchid, no we are at home. We are going over this afternoon. I am slightly running on stress as not slept much but trying to get one of those grips Lissette was talking about. I did manage a fifteen minute nap yesterday afternoon as DD (bless her) played Monopoly with DS which was helpful. This is no mean feat as he is very particular about what streets he gets etc and it tests her patience. How are you?

Bloomed · 26/02/2017 11:58

Prayers for you Oma and a candle lit. I'm still somewhat in limbo regarding health etc. Praying for calm for all today.

Lissette · 26/02/2017 13:13

I hope the move is still going well for you bloomed

Thinking of Don't and her husband. Hope dh has been discharged.

Lissette · 26/02/2017 23:42

'Lord God,

We dwell in your house,
Drink in your presence
And find peace and rest in your arms.

We believe in your name,
Ask for your healing
And believe and trust in your love.

We thank you for your sacrifice,
Receive all you have for us
And pray and ask for restoration.

We need your touch.
We wait on you.
You are our Saviour, our friend, and our hope.

Amen.'

BlackeyedSusan · 27/02/2017 07:51

Hope that you are feeling better and got more sleep last night Oma.

back to school. it is not being looked forward to.

also need an urgent trip to bank. hopefully a dry non rainy trip.

Orchidflower1 · 27/02/2017 09:40

Praying for all

dont is dh home- how is he?

bes hope you have a good day- started raining here but got to pop to shop as need basics. Was going to be brave and ask friend to take me to supermarket but not a great morning in the orchid house so may just go to corner shop on way to collect ds or later on - raining here - just started - argh! Can't get motivated- got so much to do I don't know where to start. Must make a list and prioritise!
cocoa and lisette hope anxiety better. Mine was bad yesterday and fighting this morning.

Prayers for calmness

BlackeyedSusan · 27/02/2017 09:43

orchid, if the most urgent thing is impossible, try doing some of the prep towards it. (eg find the envelope and pen) says i who needs to b reak down tasks into simple bits.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/02/2017 10:12

my next task is finding an envelope!

BlackeyedSusan · 27/02/2017 16:14

school run in the rain.

small boy library, and hopefully no meltdown over the non existaent bananas.

CocoaLeaves · 27/02/2017 18:15

So, as regards Lent... I checked the NHS guidelines on stress to start taking practical steps to loosen the vice in my chest, and it says give up coffee and sugar Shock

It is going to have to be sugar. I need to cut the caffeine but I prefer to do that gradually. So I will give up sugar. I have cut a cup of coffee already today.

Thank you for posting the prayer lissette.

Lissette · 27/02/2017 18:41

You're welcome. Smile

I cut coffee once and was much, much calmer. Although I do drink it constantly.Brew

I'll join you in cutting down. Cold turkey is grim and I get headaches.

I'm cutting out alcohol and sugar for Lent. WineCake I have a charity box for Lent so money will go into that.

Getting out in fresh air is good for stress too. Also epsom salt baths - magnesium crystals. Only a 20 minute soak. Relaxes you as magnesium is absorbed and it is a key mineral for relaxing. Don't use soap - just soak. X

Dutchoma · 27/02/2017 22:54

I'm wondering whether I might make a suggestion for Lent out of the ordinary: how about giving up looking down on ourselves and putting that value on ourselves that Christ puts on us?
After all, it is such a magnificent thing that He has done for us, maybe it is time to make sure that we derive our value from His immense love for us.
I think we sometimes get to believe that God loves us, but does God like us any more than we like ourselves? Do we ever feel God approves of us? Maybe Lent is the time to humbly accept God's love for us and for six weeks maybe even love ourselves?

What a good idea: also a way to still the inner voice of doubt.

Lissette · 28/02/2017 00:06

Lovely idea Dutchoma . To quote another Dutch person (Henri Nouwen):

'Dear Friend, being the Beloved is the origin and the fulfillment of the life of the Spirit. I say this because, as soon as we catch a glimpse of this truth, we are put on a journey in search of the fullness of that truth and we will not rest until we rest in that truth. From the moment we claim the truth of being the Beloved, we are faced with the call to become who we are. Becoming the Beloved is the great spiritual journey we have to make. Augustine’s words: “My soul is restless until it rests in you, O God,” capture well this journey.'

CocoaLeaves · 28/02/2017 06:17

Amen to that Flowers

BlackeyedSusan · 28/02/2017 07:49

hoping you are feeling better oma.
how are you don't?

got a "productive" cold. feeling poorly. not don'ts and omas scale of poorly, but need to parent/drive while managing the constant symptoms.

Dutchoma · 28/02/2017 07:58

I am not poorly any more. How I hate being 'poorly' and being fussed over.

(You are all lovely)

Oh Edd prayers for your DD, and for you. I am sorry to hear this as you already had much to concern you. I pray that things improve for DD and all around.

Oma, please take care of yourself and do not overdo it good that you are on the mend.

Prayers all around for health, I think. bes I hope the cold shifts.

Productive and peaceful day here, thanks to the Lord for a bit of respite.
