Welcome to a new prayer thread to take us into the summer. This is a safe and supportive place of prayer, where regulars, occasional visitors and lurkers, committed Christians and those just dipping a toe into the water are all equally welcome. Come and leave a prayer, tell us what's going on in your life, bring your worries, hopes, fears and joys to God, and know that you will be prayed for.

We pray, in particular, for...

... ALittleFaith, especially for her dad, who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease;

... amberlight, for her work raising awareness of the ways in which we can work to make life easier for our autistic friends, and for her to know love and acceptance wherever she goes;

... Anjelica27, as she tries to find ways to support her DS through his mental health problems and self-harm;

... AnxiousKeziah, following the loss of her baby DS;

... BlackEyedSusan, for all the many things which she has to juggle in her life as a single parent; for good support for her DD and DS; and for her mum;

... BlueTinkerbell, thanking God for the safe arrival of her beautiful DD4;

... Bsshbosh, who has terminal cancer, for the best possible quality of life for her for as long as possible; also for her DH and DD as they travel this road with her;

... DizzyDaffodil, who is struggling, asking God to be with her and for her to find RL support at this time;

... DontstepontheMomeRaths, for her busy life as a single mum, and for the wonderful work she does through her church supporting people going through separation and divorce;

... DutchOma, thanking God for the wonderful support that she provides for so many on here;

... FaithLoveandHope, for her mental health; for decisions about her academic work; for her STB-FIL who has been diagnosed with cancer; and for her relationship with her DP;

... fakenamefornow, thanking God that things have taken a turn for the better for her;

... howtoapproachthis, for her health, following her diagnosis with CFS and for her to find support for herself and her DD;

... HydrochloricTulip, for stresses at home and at work;

... innerstrength100, for strength to decide what to do in the aftermath of the break-up of her relationship last year and the unexpected coming back into her life of her ex;

... Kaykat, continuing to pray for her as she goes through the stressful and painful process of divorce; praying, in particular, that she is able to find continue to support her DS through this process;

... LegallyBlonde77, as she goes through the adoption process - praying for a match very soon and for her family to be complete;

... LifeofBriony, for problems in her relationship with her DH;

... littlehouseinthebigwoods, for problems in her relationship with her controlling DH;

... MadHairDay, for her ongoing health issues;

... PositiveAttitude, especially for her mum who has dementia and for her dad, who finds it hard to accept help; for her DD2 recovering from a scary reaction to a dog-bite overseas, and for her whole family; for her studies and her role within her church; and for her and her DH as they plan new and exciting ways of working with the people of Cambodia;

... QuestionofFaith, as she tries to rebuild her life with her DH following his mental health problems and withdrawal from her;

... SESthebrave, for problems at work; also for her MIL who has had a cancer diagnosis;

... TooBusyByHalf, as she explores and hopefully rediscovers her faith;

... weegiemum, for her continued recovery from her very scary infection and septicaemia, and also for her DD's continued progress in overcoming her anorexia;

... ZipadiSoozi, for her dad who has dementia and for her mum and the whole family as they find ways to support him in this; also for her BIL who has cancer;

We pray also for all regular and occasional visitors including: Badvoc, BlessedAssurance, BlueSkies80, CaulkheadUpNorth, CharlotteCollins, chocolateteapot, cloutiedumpling, CocoaBean, DeladionInch, EilisCitron, FlabbyMummy, Gingercurl, JugglingFromHereToThere, ktef, legohurtswhenyoustandonit, LollipopViolet, LostinChilli, MaryBS, MrsPixieMoo, niminypiminy, ninetynineonehundred, PandaG, Pipbin, RoomForALittleOne, ScarletDancer, thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts, weegiemum, WobblyRainbow, Zing and for anyone I've forgotten to name-check (don't take it personally, please!). We pray for our muslim sisters over in the tea-room, at a time when many feel afraid in a world which seems suspicious of their faith, praying for peace and understanding between all faiths. And we pray for those who read and pray but don't post, for those who need our prayers but are afraid or too uncertain to post them, and for all those known to us in our own lives who need God's love.

Keep Your people, Lord,
in the arms of Your embrace.
Shelter them under Your wings.
Be their light in darkness.
Be their hope in distress.
Be their calm in anxiety.
Be strength in their weakness.
Be their comfort in pain.
Be their song in the night. Amen

Praying for you, Edith - will read your thread. It must be so tough for you. Praying you know God's most wonderful peace in the midst of it all.

Dear FLaH. Flowers thinking of you, praying for you, for dss, for God's peace to reign over it all. You're so brave.

Praying for Sheep's mum.

Praying for your auntie, TUO.

How's the flat tidy going, BES?

Hope dd is doing ok, PA, and congrats on the great result in your exam.

How are you, dear Oma?

Thank you for asking after me, dear tuo. I've been rather busy which is good, as my health has been holding up since the beginning of June, which is a very long time, for me. I've finished one of the books I was working on and am doing a full edit then about to send it to agents (bites nails) - this one's a fiction one, also working on a NF. Quite pleased with it and my readers so far dh, dd and ds are all very complimentary...we'll see. Also super busy with church stuff.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/07/2015 20:06

glad you are well MHD long may it continue.

shattered. walked round with a poxy ds for one and a half hours while the car was moted... it passed.

Dutchoma · 13/07/2015 20:28

Hurray for car that passed its MOT. Now for the poxes to go away and stay away.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/07/2015 21:24

oh yes.

FaithLoveandHope · 13/07/2015 23:04

just popping on very briefly after saying night prayer. I wanted to share the CofE collect of the day, thinking especially of Edith this night:

Merciful God,
you have prepared for those who love you
such good things as pass our understanding:
pour into our hearts such love toward you
that we, loving you in all things and above all things,
may obtain your promises,
which exceed all that we can desire;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.Â

Praying and reading, reading and praying.... Asking God to hold you all in the palm of his hand.

Please pray for my aunt who is having her surgery today to remove the cancerous lump in her breast.

Please also pray for me as I've been called to a meeting today about the restructure at work. I hope I will know more by the end of today as to what is happening with my job.

BlackeyedSusan · 14/07/2015 07:23

calm the fear oh lord for ses and dases.

PeterSpots · 14/07/2015 08:06

I had a cysoscopy on Thursday where they look at your bladder. It was really rough on my urethra & now I am still in pain there & I haven't been able to work. Please pray for me. I don't know where else to turn to end this nightmare. I hurt from the cysoscopy & my original problem. I rang the hospital & they've said more painkillers. I couldn't even bear being in the car because of the bumps. I will go back to bed & pray for help & all those that need help. I even rang the Samaritans as I can't keep telling people how bad I feel

EdithSimcox · 14/07/2015 08:15

Peter, that sounds painful, praying for you. Do you have the results of the test?

SES, hope the work meeting is ok, praying for you and your aunt

BES, is the pox gone today?

Flah, thanks for your prayers.

Dutchoma · 14/07/2015 08:18

Not sure what is going on here PeterSpots any more than you do; sometimes the medical profession leaves us wondering what on earth is going on. Holding you in prayer before the Lord, praying for strength to go on. Praying for all around you so that you may not feel that you are a burden to them. Praying that there is someone in real life to come alongside you. Praying for the pain to stop, the painkillers to work. The Samaritans are amazing, don't hesitate to ring them again if you need an outlet for all the pain. And of course we are here to listen, if not much practical help.

PeterSpots · 14/07/2015 08:22

Thank you so much. It helps to know I can ask for help & express how I feel. I ask for inner strength. I am going to pray now. I believe in prayer. I just need hope

PeterSpots · 14/07/2015 08:25

He said bladder ok but urethra sore. But it was sore because he was so rough. I just don't know anymore. Seeing gynaecologist next Wednesday. I wonder sometimes if I'm weak & other people would have more strength but I try everyday. I just want my life back.

BlackeyedSusan · 14/07/2015 10:04

probably not. nothing you could do about it if you were. this is how you are made. pretty sure you are doing your best in difficult circumstances so give yourself a break and stop feeling guilty about it. and hoping you will feel better soon.

ds is back at school. I am off to tesco before school ring and tell me dd has got spots.

PeterSpots · 14/07/2015 18:28

Praying tonight for all who need support. Thank you for your prayers

BlackeyedSusan · 14/07/2015 18:57

no spots on dd.... yet. eek. she has an assembly tomorrow and parents evening the day after and assembly for ds on friday... please pary for a delay/absence of spots. if she absolutely must have it then friday evening possibly would be a good day for spots to get it over before the holiday.

I spent several hours chasing round three tesco stores trying to get the suncream that they need.

BlackeyedSusan · 14/07/2015 22:56

flat tidying not happening. something on everyday this week. mot, hospital visit, sportsday and two assemblies and today I chased round after suncream.

PeterSpots · 15/07/2015 08:54

BES hope you get some relaxing time in there! Went to a&e last night & prayed for help. Was sent away with cocodimal. Rang hospital told to ring gp. Rang gp told to ring hospital. Both dd home today so will stay strong. I will pray for guidance & peace

Dutchoma · 15/07/2015 09:36

Did the co-codamol help at all? How old are the dds? Praying for an easing of all this misery.

PeterSpots · 15/07/2015 09:39

18 & 15. They knocked me out. Going to pray now with healing prayers meditajon

Dutchoma · 15/07/2015 09:49

Ah, old enough to take a bit of care of you for a change. Co-codamol had a funny effect on me as well, I had one lot after I broke my arm, it didn't stop the pain and I didn't sleep all night if I remember right (it is a number of years ago). That of course was a case of cause and effect and eventually that got better with paracetamol and time healing. Yours sounds much more permanent. It also sounds as if there is a lot of emotional pain. Both can be healed by God and I pray that you find some peace and rest. I also pray that hospital and gp stop playing ping pong with your health and that you have the strength to tell them that you need some help now.

PeterSpots · 15/07/2015 19:22

Thank you. I felt like I was receiving healing last night. It is awful tonight like I have sharp blades inside me. I pray for the strength to keep going

Dutchoma · 15/07/2015 22:25

Peter praying that you wil get some rest, if not sleep in the night and that the pain is gone in the morning.

EdithSimcox · 15/07/2015 22:29

Praying for strength for you peter and a bit of peace for you bes.

Please pray for my DP who seems to have hit a new low tonight.
And for me to be more patient and kinder to her, inwardly as I am outwardly (instead of wishing she'd just stop the drama and pull herself together which is mean and horrible and selfish of me).

BlackeyedSusan · 16/07/2015 07:34

dd has to go to hospital appointment. please pray that she will be referred to the relevent specialist.

BlackeyedSusan · 16/07/2015 13:16

we have a referral and things are being taken more seriously.
