Welcome to a new prayer thread to take us into the summer. This is a safe and supportive place of prayer, where regulars, occasional visitors and lurkers, committed Christians and those just dipping a toe into the water are all equally welcome. Come and leave a prayer, tell us what's going on in your life, bring your worries, hopes, fears and joys to God, and know that you will be prayed for.

We pray, in particular, for...

... ALittleFaith, especially for her dad, who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease;

... amberlight, for her work raising awareness of the ways in which we can work to make life easier for our autistic friends, and for her to know love and acceptance wherever she goes;

... Anjelica27, as she tries to find ways to support her DS through his mental health problems and self-harm;

... AnxiousKeziah, following the loss of her baby DS;

... BlackEyedSusan, for all the many things which she has to juggle in her life as a single parent; for good support for her DD and DS; and for her mum;

... DontstepontheMomeRaths, for her busy life as a single mum, and for the wonderful work she does through her church supporting people going through separation and divorce;

... DutchOma, thanking God for the wonderful support that she provides for so many on here;

... FaithLoveandHope, for her mental health; for decisions about her academic work; for her STB-FIL who has been diagnosed with cancer; and for her relationship with her DP;

... fakenamefornow, thanking God that things have taken a turn for the better for her;

... howtoapproachthis, for her health, following her diagnosis with CFS and for her to find support for herself and her DD;

... HydrochloricTulip, for stresses at home and at work;

... innerstrength100, for strength to decide what to do in the aftermath of the break-up of her relationship last year and the unexpected coming back into her life of her ex;

... Kaykat, continuing to pray for her as she goes through the stressful and painful process of divorce; praying, in particular, that she is able to find continue to support her DS through this process;

... LegallyBlonde77, as she goes through the adoption process - praying for a match very soon and for her family to be complete;

... LifeofBriony, for problems in her relationship with her DH;

... littlehouseinthebigwoods, for problems in her relationship with her controlling DH;

... MadHairDay, for her ongoing health issues;

... PositiveAttitude, especially for her mum who has dementia and for her dad, who finds it hard to accept help; for her DD2 recovering from a scary reaction to a dog-bite overseas, and for her whole family; for her studies and her role within her church; and for her and her DH as they plan new and exciting ways of working with the people of Cambodia;

... QuestionofFaith, as she tries to rebuild her life with her DH following his mental health problems and withdrawal from her;

We pray also for all regular and occasional visitors including: Badvoc, BlessedAssurance, BlueSkies80, CaulkheadUpNorth, CharlotteCollins, chocolateteapot, cloutiedumpling, CocoaBean, DeladionInch, EilisCitron, FlabbyMummy, Gingercurl, JugglingFromHereToThere, ktef, legohurtswhenyoustandonit, LollipopViolet, LostinChilli, MaryBS, MrsPixieMoo, niminypiminy, ninetynineonehundred, PandaG, Pipbin, RoomForALittleOne, ScarletDancer, thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts, weegiemum, WobblyRainbow, Zing and for anyone I've forgotten to name-check (don't take it personally, please!). We pray for our muslim sisters over in the tea-room, at a time when many feel afraid in a world which seems suspicious of their faith, praying for peace and understanding between all faiths. And we pray for those who read and pray but don't post, for those who need our prayers but are afraid or too uncertain to post them, and for all those known to us in our own lives who need God's love.

Keep Your people, Lord,
in the arms of Your embrace.
Shelter them under Your wings.
Be their light in darkness.
Be their hope in distress.
Be their calm in anxiety.
Be strength in their weakness.
Be their comfort in pain.
Be their song in the night. Amen

excellent sooz. dd has just caused a post avalanche, twice. despite her love of physicas she has little concept of friction and the lack thereof between envelopes that are places at an angle on the stairs.

Dutchoma · 17/06/2015 17:59

I'm usually quite good and it was easy enough on the way there, but this time I could not find the bus stop I needed and just as I had a second try at it there was an emergency that required 'immediate evacuation', so I had to get out and try again. Eventually I found someone to ask and she told me right. It doesn't help my foot was getting more and more painful. Very glad to be home.
Prayers for all poorly children.

PeterSpots · 17/06/2015 18:38

Thank you for the prayers & I will say prayers too.

Tuo · 18/06/2015 00:11

Prayers for all.

Thanking God for the safe return of lovely Oma. And praying for all who are feeling ill or stressed or who have sick children (or all of the above).

From tonight's Northumbria compline:

Calm us, O Lord, as You stilled the storm.
Still us, O Lord, keep us from harm.
Let all the tumult within us cease.
Enfold us, Lord, in Your peace. Amen

Sorry dd

BlackeyedSusan · 18/06/2015 12:01

I am really struggling.

ALittleFaith · 18/06/2015 14:34

Praying bes.

I am too. Called into work, not going in next week. I need time to chill out! Even ringing in had me hyperventilating.

PeterSpots · 18/06/2015 20:51

I'm struggling too. Don't know what to do for the best. Don't think I can cope with ADs or HRT if it turns out all these problems are cos of hormones. Struggling whether to take the AD

PeterSpots · 18/06/2015 20:58

I keep asking for guidance

Dutchoma · 18/06/2015 21:28

What happened at the gynae appointment PeterSpots? Are you still in a lot of pain? Sometimes the only solution is to stop asking (for guidance) and to come to a place of rest, something like it says in psalm 131: 'I have stilled and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother'. Try to hold that picture in your mind, be like the quiet child, full of the milk of goodness of God. In the end God will be the solution to your problems, as He is the solution to all problems.

PeterSpots · 18/06/2015 21:32

All good inside. Had bloods for hormones. That does sound like a good advise. I think you can tell how desperate for answers/for this to be over. I need to find a stillness. Thank you

PeterSpots · 18/06/2015 21:34

The muscle pain is so wide spread. Face, wrist, ankles, tingling all over. Will try to find a quiet place inside me

SmallMustard · 18/06/2015 21:47

Yes, I can identify with that but ADs made the difference between wide spread pain all day every day and no sleep to manageable discomfort.

ZipadiSoozi · 18/06/2015 21:53

PeterSpots, sorry you are struggling, have you already started HRT, highly recommend, the benefits far outweigh any worries, I have been on HRT for 34 years, but it affects people in different ways though, but good advice from DO relaxing, meditation, also massage, complimentary therapy can't hurt, I used to enjoy reflexology. Have you a Taize CD you could play. Anyway prayers and good luck, hope you find a treatment that suits you.

BES hope your day has improved.

Sending DS2 back to school tomorrow, still wheezy but hopefully glands gone down enough.

PeterSpots · 18/06/2015 22:08

I'm waiting for a blood test. I can't understand how I have fallen asleep physically & mentally. I'm just don't know whether to take the AD or push for the HRT. I think it may help SM. Just not coping with it. Its like waking up & something else is wrong

Tuo · 18/06/2015 23:19

PeterSpots - if you had a headache, would you take a paracetomol? If the ADs may help, then take them... there is no shame in doing so, and they may just help you to cope. (Of course, I know that they are not without side-effects and can take a while to work, but it has to be worth a try.)

Beautiful advice from Oma, too.

Praying tonight for all those who feel that they are not coping; for those dealing with physical or mental pain or anguish, or both; for those who don't feel supported or who feel that they have nowhere to turn. May God be with all who need him and may they feel his encompassing love tonight, tomorrow and always.

Really, really struggling today, I forgot my ads yesterday and all the symptoms are back with a vengeance, no idea how I will get through the day but at least I don't have to go to work.

PeterSpots · 19/06/2015 07:37

Thank you Tuo. Hope you are ok today SM. Sending good thoughts to you all.

QofF · 19/06/2015 08:28

praying this morning for all of you who are struggling. Great advice from Oma above. I think as well that when we ask for guidance we need to have faith it will be given and wait (easy I know.....Wink). Sometimes we can be so busy asking and asking for help that we miss the answer when it does come. If God has given you guidance before then know he will again. His goodness and his presence is unchanging so why would he not provide guidance again. Praying that you will all feel the peace from Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Notapassingphase · 19/06/2015 08:38

Sliding back in. Name change. Also feeling hopeless today. There's a big dead hole in my chest; I'm becoming a robot: eat, work, think, pray, sleep (a little). Seem to be losing the ability to laugh or cry.

Holding hands and praying with and for you all.

madhairday · 19/06/2015 09:12

Praying for you, notapassing. Sounds like things are tough. Praying that big hole is filled up with God's perfect peace.

Also praying very much today for PeterSpots and smallmustard. Pain can be so very all consuming. So hard to see beyond and to see God's grace in. I've found the writings of Amy Carmichael really helpful in this as she was bed bound with awful pain yet found this incredible freedom in God's love despite it all. Praying for relief for you and peace.

Glad you made it home ok dear Oma :)

Bes I hope today is better. Peace to you. Flowers

Dutchoma · 19/06/2015 09:13

Reaching out to you, Napp. Praying that the warmth and the love of the Lord Jesus, the author of all life will melt your heart.

Notapassingphase · 19/06/2015 09:27

Thanks MHD and Oma, it's good to be back :)
I don't have depression or pain, just relationship troubles. Praying for strength and for hope and love to win through.
