Welcome to a new prayer thread to take us into the summer. This is a safe and supportive place of prayer, where regulars, occasional visitors and lurkers, committed Christians and those just dipping a toe into the water are all equally welcome. Come and leave a prayer, tell us what's going on in your life, bring your worries, hopes, fears and joys to God, and know that you will be prayed for.

We pray, in particular, for...

... ALittleFaith, especially for her dad, who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease;

... amberlight, for her work raising awareness of the ways in which we can work to make life easier for our autistic friends, and for her to know love and acceptance wherever she goes;

... Anjelica27, as she tries to find ways to support her DS through his mental health problems and self-harm;

... AnxiousKeziah, following the loss of her baby DS;

... BlackEyedSusan, for all the many things which she has to juggle in her life as a single parent; for good support for her DD and DS; and for her mum;

... BlueTinkerbell, thanking God for the safe arrival of her beautiful DD4;

... Bsshbosh, who has terminal cancer, for the best possible quality of life for her for as long as possible; also for her DH and DD as they travel this road with her;

... DizzyDaffodil, who is struggling, asking God to be with her and for her to find RL support at this time;

... DontstepontheMomeRaths, for her busy life as a single mum, and for the wonderful work she does through her church supporting people going through separation and divorce;

... DutchOma, thanking God for the wonderful support that she provides for so many on here;

... FaithLoveandHope, for her mental health; for decisions about her academic work; for her STB-FIL who has been diagnosed with cancer; and for her relationship with her DP;

... fakenamefornow, thanking God that things have taken a turn for the better for her;

... howtoapproachthis, for her health, following her diagnosis with CFS and for her to find support for herself and her DD;

... HydrochloricTulip, for stresses at home and at work;

... innerstrength100, for strength to decide what to do in the aftermath of the break-up of her relationship last year and the unexpected coming back into her life of her ex;

... Kaykat, continuing to pray for her as she goes through the stressful and painful process of divorce; praying, in particular, that she is able to find continue to support her DS through this process;

... LegallyBlonde77, as she goes through the adoption process - praying for a match very soon and for her family to be complete;

... LifeofBriony, for problems in her relationship with her DH;

... littlehouseinthebigwoods, for problems in her relationship with her controlling DH;

... MadHairDay, for her ongoing health issues;

... PositiveAttitude, especially for her mum who has dementia and for her dad, who finds it hard to accept help; for her DD2 recovering from a scary reaction to a dog-bite overseas, and for her whole family; for her studies and her role within her church; and for her and her DH as they plan new and exciting ways of working with the people of Cambodia;

... QuestionofFaith, as she tries to rebuild her life with her DH following his mental health problems and withdrawal from her;

... SESthebrave, for problems at work; also for her MIL who has had a cancer diagnosis;

... TooBusyByHalf, as she explores and hopefully rediscovers her faith;

... weegiemum, for her continued recovery from her very scary infection and septicaemia, and also for her DD's continued progress in overcoming her anorexia;

... ZipadiSoozi, for her dad who has dementia and for her mum and the whole family as they find ways to support him in this; also for her BIL who has cancer;

We pray also for all regular and occasional visitors including: Badvoc, BlessedAssurance, BlueSkies80, CaulkheadUpNorth, CharlotteCollins, chocolateteapot, cloutiedumpling, CocoaBean, DeladionInch, EilisCitron, FlabbyMummy, Gingercurl, JugglingFromHereToThere, ktef, legohurtswhenyoustandonit, LollipopViolet, LostinChilli, MaryBS, MrsPixieMoo, niminypiminy, ninetynineonehundred, PandaG, Pipbin, RoomForALittleOne, ScarletDancer, thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts, weegiemum, WobblyRainbow, Zing and for anyone I've forgotten to name-check (don't take it personally, please!). We pray for our muslim sisters over in the tea-room, at a time when many feel afraid in a world which seems suspicious of their faith, praying for peace and understanding between all faiths. And we pray for those who read and pray but don't post, for those who need our prayers but are afraid or too uncertain to post them, and for all those known to us in our own lives who need God's love.

Keep Your people, Lord,
in the arms of Your embrace.
Shelter them under Your wings.
Be their light in darkness.
Be their hope in distress.
Be their calm in anxiety.
Be strength in their weakness.
Be their comfort in pain.
Be their song in the night. Amen

Thank you for sharing Iwonder. I'll hold you in my prayers in the next couple of weeks as the anniversary approaches.

My Grandma passed away peacefully at 11.30 last night. I'm so glad we avoided her going into hospital, she didn't need any extra medications. In her circumstances, it's exactly the death I would want for her. She was always a woman of faith so I know where she's gone! Thank you for your prayers xx

Dutchoma · 15/06/2015 07:17

Praise the Lord Faith. I'm giving thanks to God for you and for her life too. Praise the Lord.

SmallMustard · 15/06/2015 07:24

Thank you Tuo (I was Dizzy), that's appreciated.
Faith, thinking of you and your grandma this morning.
I have an interview this afternoon, prayers would be appreciated for that as it's quite important that it goes well and a lot is involved - a panel interview and some written tests!

PeterSpots · 15/06/2015 07:29

Hello would you please pray for me. I am not coping with the pain I am in. Face pressure (TMD), buttock, ankle, pelvic, anxiety. Not sure what to do anymore.

BlackeyedSusan · 15/06/2015 07:33

not read through yet. (eyes are too tired) but I did sleep for the longest I have done in a while. I hope to be able to manage to get some stuff done today.

SmallMustard · 15/06/2015 07:36

Peter that sounds like the pain I get as well. Have you been diagnosed with a condition that causes it? (I have self diagnosed)

Iwonderif · 15/06/2015 07:36

I will keep you PeterSpots, Smallmustard and ALittleFaith in my prayers. Thanks for the kindness Tuo. ALittleFaith, I'm sure your Grandma is very close to you right now. Deepest sympathies. Xxx

PeterSpots · 15/06/2015 07:47

Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. I will feel your hugs today. Smallmustard. Maybe perimenopause or depression. What do you feel is the problem?

SmallMustard · 15/06/2015 08:23

Both of those, but I also wonder about fibromyalgia as the symptoms all fit when I look at them on the NHS website.

BlackeyedSusan · 15/06/2015 15:46

hope it went ok mustard.

so sorry faith. glad that she was able to stay in her home.

I am, I guess, hormonal. everything seems such hard work. I have managed to tidy up a bit though. and look at some of the dreaded post.

BlackeyedSusan · 15/06/2015 15:56

actaully, I have sunk rapidly in the last few minutes, which is definitely hormone related. better go get the children.

SmallMustard · 15/06/2015 16:59

I hope you feel better soon BES.
I went OK, thank you. If I don't get it then I gave it my best shot so I'll be content with that I hope.

SESthebrave · 15/06/2015 21:17

Praying for those with health / pain issues - PeterSpots, SmallMustard

BES - prayers for another good night's sleep for you

Faith - prayers for you and all those who love your Grandma. She sounds like an inspirational lady and that won't ever leave you.

Iwonder - prayers for you and your family at this difficult time. It's strange how some dates can have very different meanings all at once. I bet your first-born looks down with love and pride at his family, and he will always be part of your family.

Gladys - prayers for you in your grief. I was also close to my Nana and felt such loss when she died but even now, about 15 years on, I still feel her close.

Prayers also for TooBusy, DO, TUO, PA, MHD and all others in need this evening.

Please can I ask for prayers for someone I know. I used to help at a Crusader youth group that he ran and he had a severe stroke last week. He collapsed in his garden where he remained for at least 24hrs until a passer by found him. He's in hospital and will need some weeks in a rehab centre. Please pray that he will feel God's love and not lose his faith.

PeterSpots · 15/06/2015 21:26

???? thank you. I will send prayers to all

Dutchoma · 15/06/2015 22:08

Anjelica could do with our prayers for herself and her son.
Glad the interview went well SmallMustard
Praying for your friend SES.

Love and peace to all.

Iwonderif · 15/06/2015 22:18

Thank you SES for your kind words. Means a great deal to me. Good night to you all who have recently remembered me and my family in your prayers. I too shall be remembering all those listed above. I hope tomorrow is a gentle peaceful day for each of you. That you know that you're thought of by those who don't even know you and wished the very best. God bless. Xx

Tuo · 15/06/2015 22:59

Prayers for all tonight.

Prayers in particular for PeterSpots (welcome to the thread), SmallMustard and BES as they cope with pain and all that goes with it - the not sleeping properly in particular, which makes everything feel worse. Praying you all get a good night's sleep tonight, and some answers to the question of what's causing the pain.

Thanking God that Mustard's interview went as well as it could today. As my mum used to say, 'You can't do more than your best'. (My mum has a cliche for every occasion, bless her, but this one is actually very true!)

Praying, too, for ALittleFaith - I'm so sorry for your loss, but it does sound like the best possible passing, and I hope you can take comfort from that.

SES - praying for your friend - I really hope he's OK.

And keeping prayers going for Anjelica and her DS, and for Iwonderif.

May all who read this thread, whether or not they post, feel God's loving, caring, comforting presence very near to them tonight.

Praying. I can't sleep, sigh. I had a row with somebody just before bed.

Dutchoma · 16/06/2015 06:01

I hope you got some sleep in the end SM, rows just before bed are the worst.

SmallMustard · 16/06/2015 06:03
