Bright blessings to all!

Wiccan here. Just wondering if there are any more of us around. :) I don't have a coven, and there doesn't seem to be too much opportunity for it in Ireland, even in the medium sized cities.

DP is not a Wiccan. I'm a hospital doctor. We enjoy Dr. Who and Star Trek. I was raised Catholic.

I have had a lovely Beltane. Didn't get to celebrate quite as soon as I'd have liked, due to work, but it was beautiful.

My sick orchid is budding, my Book of Shadows is growing... Thinking about a nice walk in the woods tomorrow afternoon.

Would love to hear from others. :) I have so many questions.

I'm organising the school's Summer Fair and could do with some good vibes to help me pull it off!

I'd also like to suggest sending vibes to Napal to help them through their crisis.

RabbitsarenotHares · 14/05/2015 12:42

Hi everyone,

I'm not a pagan but do find it fascinating (especially after having studied the Celts for years) and I do believe, apropos of nothing, that everything is connected and thus things like the Tarot can have meaning, though only if read by people who really know what they're doing (unlike the person who kept talking about my son - I have never had, nor never will have, children). Saying that, I have tried reading my own a few times, (despite not knowing at all what I'm doing!).

I do have a couple of questions:

  1. I was thinking about buying a crystal for the office to help with concentration and focus - what would you suggest?

  2. I was reading on this thread about burning sage to cleanse a home and it sparked an interest. Is there anything that one can burn to increase the 'home-liness' of a home? Sorry, can't really thing how to word it. But I feel my DP could do with feeling more grounded (he has to travel a lot, and may have to move away during the week for work, and I can see it unsettling him) and if he does move away I'd like to increase the serenity of the place for me. Is there anything that would work (if that makes any sense whatsoever!).

Thanks!

I'm sending healing energy to a family member on a daily basis. I do visualisation. I found that I was so upset when I heard the news of their demise and then the idea came to me to do my best to heal them. It's helping me anyway as it focuses my grief.

Milllli · 14/05/2015 12:48

Rabbits when I need to make my nest cosy I buy some new throws and cushions and have a bit of a move round of furniture until the place feels perfect.

Milllli · 14/05/2015 12:53

I also light candles in the evening and say affirmations as I light them.

DoctorShoe · 14/05/2015 12:57

Good idea re Nepal, quiet!

And coming your way re the fete.

OP posts:
RabbitsarenotHares · 14/05/2015 12:58

Milllli - thank you! I suspect the furniture will have to be moved around anyway, as he'll want to take some stuff to his new place and so there'll be gaps. But I want to be careful I don't make the place too "mine" as it were (even though I'll be there much more than him). He's unsettled by nature anyway, and I don't want to make it worse.

Never thought about affirmations with candles, but that's incredibly appealing. Shall look something up.

spiderlight

I'll show DD1 that video later. What a talented and attractive young lady. Perfect for the point about front-tooth gaps I'm trying to make.

I love the indigo essences. I have a few of the sprays including Chill, Sleep Easy, Love and The Works. Later this year, when DD2 starts school, I plan to try to build up a holistic practice and while Bach essences are the ones I initially trained with I'd like to use more of these if I have children to work with.

I'll admit to being a bit 'mean' with essences. There are my poor DDs trying to stretch out bedtime for as long as possible by any method possible. Occasionally I'll get a 'too scared to sleep' excuse. I merrily get out my anti-negativity room sprays (mainly Alaskan Essence - Guardian) and give the child a good spray with Sleep Easy and tell them that I fixed it and to go to sleep. Of course if it's a nightmare or genuine anxiety I am a bit less matter-of-fact about it, though would probably use the same kit.

Milllli · 14/05/2015 13:38

Why is he having to move away to a place if hid own Rabbit? I would get some crystals, cleanse and charge them and again affirm loving intentions in them and take them to his new place and plant them where he wont notice.

RabbitsarenotHares · 14/05/2015 14:14

It's for work, Millllie - will be too far away to come home during the week. Would any particular crystals be best?

And is there a basic introduction to paganism? I would love to learn more about it all.

WitchyStitches · 14/05/2015 14:43

I too like the thought of a MN coven sending positive vibes to Nepal.

On a more selfish note I would like to request positive anxiety reducing thoughts for me please. Having a bit of a stressful time at work and am finding myself waking up in the middle of the night worrying - not like me at all.

Welcome rabbits

I can think of lots of good crystals for an office but it might depend on what you want to focus on:

Rainbow fluorite - I associate this with increased mental clarity - also apparently good for people who work with computers etc.
Clear Quartz - enhances and magnifies positive energy
Calcite (in any colour) - helps with goal setting and getting stuff done generally
Amazonite - for the courage to speak up
Amethyst or Blue lace agate - to soothe conflict and help diplomacy
Carnelian - for courage and creativity
Citrine - for attracting positive energy and prosperity

I have a few crystals at work - I have a few plants on my windowsill and I let the crystals sit in the plant pots. I find if they're on my desk, people pick them up and hold them when they talk to me - so afterwards I let them sit under the plants in the sunlight to cleanse recharge.

propelusagain · 14/05/2015 15:27

Love the group work. DD was fine at dentist. A put of tugging and pullin, but no actual pain- sitting eating pasta now.

DaisyStarLight · 14/05/2015 15:37

Count me in for MN coven positive vib sending Grin

Love the video great song and very talented young lady Smile

Thanks for all the anniversary blessing xx

Mmm I have a problem with three people in my child's club. They are adults but seem to get off on causing offence to other people in the club and bringing negative energy to the whole club being unsupportive and very competitive and vocal. So much so that other adults no longer voice an opioin or interact in case these three set upon them. I was looking for a spell to help bind their negativity or to replace it with more positive energy as I think this would help the whole club both children and adults that are involved. If anyone has some suggestions I'm open to anything to help Sad

DaisyStarLight · 14/05/2015 15:43

I think this negativity is coming from their personal lives as one is grieving, another is going through a hard time with a relationship and one has just lost their job but them being bullies had started before these events but I think this has made their behaviour worse. I want something gental and positive to resolve the situation.

DaisyStarLight · 14/05/2015 15:45

*Gentle

DaisyStarLight · 14/05/2015 15:48

Or protecting the club from negativity and making it a happy environment for all instead of focusing on individuals problems?

DoctorShoe · 14/05/2015 16:53

Daisy, I'd write my own spell, that they may find peace.

I'd include a clause regarding happiness for the club.

I always like to finish with "an it harm none, so mote it be".

Use a nice positive crystal to ground any negativity, mix a few herbs and oils for peace. Consider carrying your crystal next time you go there.

Humble suggestion that works for me. Smile

Does moon phase influence the spells you all cast?

OP posts:
DaisyStarLight · 14/05/2015 17:28

Yes the moon can influence the spell but a new moon (on Monday) can mean new beginnings so its a good time to start afresh Grin

I normally write my own spells its just choosing the right way to go about it. I think the 'find inner peace and help the club to prosper in a happy environment for all' is the way to go Smile

DoctorShoe · 14/05/2015 17:35

Sorry, I phrased that wrong. Smile Do you cast different spells based on moon phases? And do you avoid casting if Mercury is in retrograde?

I change with the moon, but not Mercury.

OP posts:
Quietattheback · 14/05/2015 18:13

Yes I was going to suggest a blessing spell "May you be blessed with , for the well being of all". You could also bless yourself, "May I be blessed with the fortitude and grace to hold a loving space for and for the well being of all". My friend who taught me about blessings said you should always try and send the energy out as far as possible which is why you stick the "...for the well being of all", on the end.

For those looking to cleanse the home, have you heard of orgonite? I have a couple of small pieces and they supposedly help to transmute energy. They are basically a mix of organic and non organic substances set it resin. I have a couple of small pieces that are crystals and metal. Hang on and I'll see if I can upload a picture...

DoctorShoe · 14/05/2015 18:27

Oh may I add a request to our group blessing, that my good points become more apparent to people at work? Some people there are unnecessarily critical, especially when I make the tougher decisions for the good of the patient.

OP posts:
VelvetGreen · 14/05/2015 19:42

a new moon (on Monday) can mean new beginnings

I now have a Duran Duran earworm - thanks for that Smile

It's obviously a Buddhist practice rather than a Pagan one, but the lovingkindness meditation i mentioned earlier is a good way of dealing with negativity from others, as well as developing compassion for yourself and empathy for others.

Basically, you send out positive feelings of love and peace to yourself, someone you love, someone you are neutral about, and someone you have a difficult relationship with. I usually say/think something along the lines of 'may i/they/all be happy and well and free from suffering'.

There's a very straightforward guide to the practice here if anyone is interested in trying it, and here's some of the evidence for how good it is.

DoctorShoe · 14/05/2015 19:59

Thanks, Velvet. That sounds perfect.

This thread us giving me so much food for thought and life/self improvement.
