Christians, what are your favourite prayers, scripture passages or sayings from the saints or other Christian leaders? Please post here for us all to reflect upon. In the peace and love of Jesus.

Let nothing disturb you,
Nothing frighten you;
All things are passing,
God never changes.
Patient endurance
obtains all things;
Who God possesses
In nothing is wanting:
God alone suffices.

Saint Teresa of Avila

Maybe I'll be the only one of the thread! :) No worries..

"Brothers and sisters: Have no anxiety at all, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you."
Philippians 4:6-9

My particular favourites:

The Evening Collect:

Lighten our darkness, we beseech thee oh Lord, and by thy great mercy protect us from all perils and dangers of this night, for the love of they only son, Jesus Christ, our saviour. Amen.

The Nunc Dimittis:

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; to be a light to lighten the Gentiles and to be the glory of thy people Israel.

Romans 8: 38-9

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

'Though we are many, we are one body, because we all share in one bread.'

That means all humans, to me.

'Father of all, we give you thanks and praise, that when we were still far off, you met us in your Son and brought us home. Dying and living, he declared your love, gave us grace and opened the gate of glory'.

Possible errors in that one as I'm typing from memory and haven't been to church in years. Clergy always give a good push on the word 'home' - I like. Reminds me too how much I love the parable of the Prodigal Son. I always wish they would read the bit with the neglected older brother though, he's one of my favourite characters in the Bible.

Half an hour's meditation each day is essential except when you are busy, then a full hour is needed.
