Religious / spiritual experiences

Have any of you had & would be willing to share a religious or spiritual experience you've had?

I was brought up as a church goer and have met christians who claim to have had visions (I have no reason not to believe them), 2 saw Jesus on the cross, one had a vision (I can't recall what!) and heard a voice say "truly I have come among my people", another heard a voice say "you have me, what more do you need?" when they were having a bad time, another was speaking at a christian youth gathering - lets call him Dave - & said that when he was an atheist student, he had "won" a debate about whether God existed, got back to his room & Jesus appeared and said "Dave, you are wrong" and was wondering what sort of experiences have non Christians had?

And then I thought I'd put "non christian" in the title and then I thought "well actually I would love to hear any and all, so I didn't & rambled here instead.

It's mainly been when I have had something on my mind and when I open the Bible, the answer or advice is on that page. Has happened too often to be coincidence.

I had a wonderful dream recently about being in a chapel where these was a full congregation singing 'Mi glywef dynner lais, yn galw arna i....' a Welsh hymn. It was sung in four voices (alto/soprano/bass/tenor) and was beautiful.
Those words mean, 'I hear your tender voice, calling to me' - and I believe it was God telling me that he does hear me when I pray and talk to him. Very reassuring.

:) Have you any experiences, or you thinking its people's magination or a case of wishful thinking?

Another time, about ten years ago, my Dd, 4yrs old at the time , was ill. Before falling asleep I heard a voice say 'nee-no, nee-no' ( it's the sound we'd make with cjildren fom police/ambulance sirens)

Can't tell you where the sound came from. Wether it was inside my head, or external, don't even know if it was a male or female voice, but I heard it.

To cut a long story short, when I took DD to doctors next day, he said he needed to admit her. The ambulance did put blue lights on and siren, but I didn't remeber the 'warning' until the panic was over.

Hand on heart this is true. However, I don't know if this was God, a passed relative, a guardian angel, my higher self . I know it was something other than me. Does this count as a spiritual experience in your book?

I think I'm a bit in awe of people who have had such an experience & part of me thinks "why can't / doesn't everyone (or me) have one?"

I was thinking about deceased people appearing to people too . My cousin saw her gran as if she was actually there, after she'd died, and a friend saw her father three times! The first time he gave her an actual hug. What an amazing experience. That's a bit by the bye, but it reminded me that I'd met people who'd had these spiritual experiences. I don't think they are imagined, as in 2 cases the person experiencing them had no religious feelings.

I saw my deceased grandfather in a vision.
Tbh, I was shocked as I had not experienced this. In fact I had always been quite cynical about visions.
I have since had some other visions which were wonderful.

That sounds amazing areyou

I have had several. All have been amazing. I'll describe the most recent one, which happened about 3 weeks ago. I have been beating myself up over mistakes I made about 18 months ago. As a Christian, I'd repented, asked God for forgiveness, but still felt awful about my part in a big mess. Whilst praying, God's face appeared opposite mine and He asked, "Why are you still going on about this? I've forgiven you already, now it's time you forgave yourself". As he said this, a murky puddle, stain type thing emanated from my heart and God just sort of sucked it up, till the space between us was white and squeaky clean. It totally blew me away and really helped me move on. Now, when I find myself back on that recrimination treadmill, I can replay that vision and remind myself the debt is paid. I feel sure God's telling me to put the past behind me and start contributing to a more productive future.

Wow totally amazing cheap! I'm not much more articulate than that at this time of night (perhaps never).

Like Machar mine have been pretty non dramatic. Often I find the words of hymns or psalms at mass seem to be very in tune with my feelings and really 'speak' to me. Occasionally in prayer I feel like I have had a direct conversation with God and answers seem to have come from nowhere. All these could be put down to coincidence or internal feelings but, to me, it has felt much more than that.
