Learning about Christianity

I'm not one for rash decisions so have spent the last 30+ years trying to decide how I feel about religion!
Am still unsure but keen to learn/explore. Can anyone recommend any books/websites which explain the differences people have experienced in their lives through becoming Christian?
Thanks x

Hi there. My favourite book on this is quite old now: 'Surprised by Joy' by C.S. Lewis. But there will be loads to choose from if you go into any Christian bookshop Smile I would also recommend you take a look at the ALPHA course website to see if there's one running near you. Hope this helps Smile

You might find this web site helpful: Re:Jesus

I read this last year and found it good in the way that, if I have understood your OP correctly, might provide something of what you're looking for. This is the first of five volumes, so plenty of reading there if you like it!

You might find this book helpful. It goes through the lives of several famous people in history who became Christians and is aimed at those not sure about or disillusioned with the church, so might be the kind of thing you are looking for? Would recommend anything else by this author as well. :)

Thank you all so much, I shall have a look at all your recommendations.
I have thought about an Alpha course but to be honest I'm a bit of a coward and am worried that I might find it a bit overwhelming. I'm better if I do things in my own time!

BigDorrit that's not exactly what I had in mind.....and I have already read it!!
Told you I take my time to make up my mind and my granny always told me you can't decide until you've explored all the options.

One book that I like a lot is Keith Ward's 'Christianity; A Beginner's Guide' It isn't the learning through other people's experiences that the OP asked for but what it does do is present the breadth of the faith from fairly liberal through to more conservative expression. That might help make sense of the experiences of others.
