So.

Who's in??

Anyone got any ideas of how we can organise this or what to do, where to go?? etc......

I am guessing somewhere fairly central is best - perhaps a weekend away somewhere. Camping? Chalets?

What do people think!!?

you are the best CD!!!
weekend would just be fab but maybe too much to be asking our DHs...??? don't mind trying camping (i am not a snob ok?!) - whatever, wherever, whenever as long as we do it!!!!! and if we are "good girls" it means we can do it again! ifswim and ... i am in!

CaptainDippy · 21/07/2006 11:03

Thank you nanou1!

I'd like my DH to be there as I don't drive and my DD's are 1 and 2 and a bit of a handful, iykwim!!? Not keen on camping (not because I'm a snob, but because of the age of my LO's! ) Anyway, nice to have you "in" nanou1. So our list so far comprises of the following ......

Not sure about the whole weekend, maybe the day, if its fairly central, I should be able to do that...

longwaytogo · 21/07/2006 13:07

so where would be central? I'm in i think could be a bit expensive for the 6 of us me thinks

Xavielli · 21/07/2006 15:26

I think just a day would be better for me. Have same age gap as CD.. but younger. Neither me or DP drive. shouldnt be a problem aslong as there is a train station near wherever we go! lol

I'm in BTW!

Nanou1 · 21/07/2006 15:40

hi girls! so let's see.... day seems more popular so why don't we decide on that one. re venue... am west london; marybs is cambridge i think? who else... then we can try and find something in the middle?! very exciting!

katzg · 21/07/2006 15:41

i'd like to come

on our post-natal thread we are having a day meet-up at london zoo, maybe something like that?or somewhere thats free?

where abouts in the country is everyone?

i'm in Sheffield

ps. i've meet PandaG!

Pudmog · 21/07/2006 15:43

Would love to join you- am in Bristol, would ahve to be somewhere accessible by public transport- dh drives, I don't. Tell me where and when and I will try and come!

PandaG · 21/07/2006 15:49

I'd be up for it - summer weekends are pretty busy , what about autumn? Could do w/b7th Aug though during the week. Would London be an obvious place to meet? Katz and I are Sheffield, Cd is south coast I think, and Cambs - London fairly easy esp by train. Natural History or Science Museum maybe - or a park, for a free venue. COuld make a weekend of it or just meet for the day.

Xavielli · 21/07/2006 15:56

I am near Oxford. London doesnt sound too bad... only an hour on the train.

longwaytogo · 21/07/2006 17:11

I'm in North Wales,London could be possibility friend is moving there in next few weeks so would have somewhere to stay.

MaryBS · 21/07/2006 17:32

Sounds like London then! Not sure if it'll be with/without kids. I'd probably get the Huntingdon train, faster train service/easier to park.

Nanou1 · 21/07/2006 17:34

so looking forward to meeting you all .
must go now. have a good weekend and will catch up on Monday. x

CaptainDippy · 21/07/2006 17:37

Mmmmm, so a day out in London seems most popular - I'd prefer a park veune cos my LO's wouldn't really appreciate the more "intellectual" venues!! I'm sure Xavielli agrees!!

Week beginning 7th Aug during the week is ok for me - what about everyone else??

So far, I've got ........

CaptainDippy
Nanou1
MaryBS
Xavielli
katzg
Pudmog
PandaG

Possibly longwaytogo????

Give me your thoughts .......

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 21/07/2006 17:38

I'm guessing most of us would be "with" kids??

OP posts:
Pudmog · 21/07/2006 18:42

No go to London with 3 kids on my own. Sorry.

MaryBS · 21/07/2006 19:30

I'll be at work during the week. I'm taking 2 weeks off at the end of August, so won't be allowed time off before that...

CaptainDippy · 21/07/2006 20:23

Last two weeks in Aug is good for me too - Anyone else??

Any chance you could come with less children in some way Pudmog?? (i.e have someone look after them or something??) I know that is not always possilbe, just be lovely to see you there honey!!

OP posts:
Xavielli · 21/07/2006 20:27

I can do whenever... as long as its not a weekend. They are reserved for my DP

katzg · 21/07/2006 20:38

week of 7th of Aug is no good for me, i'm in the Channel Islands

MaryBS · 21/07/2006 21:24

Sorry, I meant we'd be on holiday the last 2 weeks in August, down in Cornwall, then Devon!

CaptainDippy · 22/07/2006 06:50

OK - so people seem to prefer a week day?? ... and if people can't do the w/c 7th Aug and the last two weeks in August, then how about the w/c 14th August? How's that for people??

OP posts:
MaryBS · 22/07/2006 08:21

NO, it needs to be a weekend for me, and not 12th August, because someone will be feeling very old on that day!

Pudmog · 22/07/2006 08:44

I would prefer a w/e then i wouldn't have to bring the children. Also I really do not like travelling to London- avoid it at all costs. Would be Ok if I could meet up and travel with someone though.

Pudmog · 22/07/2006 08:45

MaryBS- we are in Devon soon- where will you be?
