I haven't seen a section so posted here. Come and talk about your dreams. Do you remember them when you wake, are they running along a particular theme?

Do you look up their meaning? Are they surreal or quite mundane.

If extra/unknown rooms represent your unfilled potential, what does it mean if you dream about being in a completely different house? There must be huge parts of my personality that have been repressed :( Usually most of the rooms are fairly normal, but there is always at least one room which is strange and frightening in some unspecified way. And sometimes I find myself going up higher into the building, through increasingly narrow spaces, towards something which I know is going to be unpleasant, but which I never actually reach.

I used to have one going up and up. Worse still it was all made of glass so I could see what was below but above was blurred. Freaky!

Oooh longway - I get the going up through narrow spaces thing. It makes me feel claustrophobic and unnerved. I'd love to know if it has any meaning.

I used to have recurring dreams about being very high up -tops of skyscrapers, large bridges etc. but In all cases there was no barrier and I was always close to the edge. I used to think it represented a fear of success (being high up) but one day it dawned on me the dreams related to a feeling of being unsupported and that there was no one or nothing to catch me if I fell. Odd that once I had that realisation, the dreams have stopped and i has had them for years!

I seem to have about 10 basic layouts that are on a loop, can drop in and out of them with varying reoccurrence. They feel so very real, sensations, smells, sounds, blinding colours that I can be quite confused when I wake. Like I'm in the wrong 'life' not saying 'i was Joan of arc' or anything bonkers like that but I definitely sense that these are in some way lives that have been or will be or perhaps are...

Does anyone else get scary horror film type monster faces in their minds eye before going to sleep? I do most nights, just before I drop off, then I dream as normal, no nightmares. Very strange.

Really enjoyed reading this thread so far, I'm fascinated by dreams. My husband and I often discuss our dreams over breakfast, and we see them as part of life really, like not just random (although some are). I've had some dreams which seem like gifts, like once when I was living abroad there was one person from home I was really missing. I dreamt about them and woke up feeling like I'd spent the night with them, it was lovely!
Also, anyone get sleep paralysis? Happens to me if I fall asleep on my back, thought I was dead the first time it happened!

I always seem to dream about churches. I'm not espeically religious or anything like that, but when I think about my dreams churches feature more than anything else. Sometimes they are churches I know of and sometimes they are ones that I've never seen before in my life. I'd love to know what it means?

Celtic I had a quick google and most of the meanings seem to depend on what you're doing or seeing in the church. Does anyone else have an idea about the meaning?

Hardly ever- I've read a little about that and although I've never had it happen the thought freaks me out. Were you out for long? Have you read about lucid dreaming?

oopla, I've no idea how long it goes on for when it happens, I imagine it's only a couple of minutes at the most. I used to see things with it as well, but don't now, and I think that's because I know what's happening now so have some control over it. I'll look at lucid dreaming.

Both times when I've been seriously broody (ttc DD2, then 6yrs later DS) I dreamed constantly of fat happy goldfish in clear sunlit ponds. Loads of ponds in a grassy garden, all healthy with bright green plants and clear water so the sun shone right to the bottom. Lots of bright orange fishies :) The dreams always made me very happy and relaxed.
